blocking hotel rooms?

blocking hotel rooms?

does anyone have a good recommendation for blocking hotel rooms near-ish to the irish coffee pub? i'm blocking for two different sets of people, really - his dad's side who is fine with cheap but nice, the cheaper the better actually (but not cheesy motel cheap) and his mom/stepdad's side - gorgerous, price isn't an issue, they want to be catered to.

his dad's side is much bigger and really the one i'm worried about. they'll be traveling the farthest, have a budget, and don't know the area. i want them to be comfortable here but not break the bank, you know? any advice would be great! thanks.

Re: blocking hotel rooms?

My FH and I just went and checked out hotels last weekend. He is from Philly, so we will require quite a few rooms.

We are having our rehearsal dinner at the Irish Coffee Pub. You should check out the new La Quinta in Bohemia. It is probably about a 10-15 drive from the Coffee Pub, but it is pretty easy to navigate. We were pretty impressed with La Quinta and the pricing seems very reasonable, especially compared to some of the other places we saw. We have not yet received a firm quote, but the woman at the front desk read some recent packages out to us. FM for more info.

I'm not sure where the coffee pub is but I just got rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ronkonkoma for $99

I think they were the same at the Marriot too.

in regards to doing a room block, do you have to give your credit card as a hold or to gurantee those rooms when you initially set it up?

we are using the inn at fox hollow for obvious reasons.

they require a 75% quarantee. so if you block 4 rooms, 3 have to be booked a month prior to the date, otherwise you are responsible for the 75%. we had to give our CC info, but tis not used until the month before.
