Blocking Hotel Rooms: Competitive Rates

Anybody know how competitive the Four Points Sheraton is with their room rates? I received a quote from them which seems like their average quote, but I received a significantly lower rate (about $25 less) from the Holiday Inn in Plainview. How good is the Four Points Sheraton about competitive rates? Is it worth trying to negotiate or is it highly unlikely they will budge?

Whats the worst that will happen if you try?

I did something similar, my hotel said 'woah we can't match that ($20 lower) but we can take afew $$ off the rate'

Thanks ladies, I just sent over an email and am for favor! I doubt they'll come down that low to match HIP, but even if they shave something off the price I am sure that my guests will appreciate it.
