Hi..I know this has been done before but I'm in the process of attempting to block hotel rooms on eastern long island....very east actually, on the north fork. Our reception is at Raphael's and we're looking to get as close to there as possible. I've seen posts on the Hampton inn, but the closest one I saw was in Brookhaven, which is just not close enough for our guests. Does anyone have any recommendations on hotel/motels or b& b's? I see that the Santorini beach comber is very close to there but I think that someone had negative feedback on it....I don't remember though.

The closest 'hotel' I think is in Riverhead- the Best Western East (used to be the Ramada). I know people have used them in the past and had good experiences. Good luck!

Rafael's is on the North Fork out in Southold on a vineyard...it's BEAUTIFUL....

Thanks DrmnBlnd!! I will definitely look into that.... I'm just concerned because most of our guests are from suffolk so I figured the closer the better. BUT I can always block best western & a motel that's closer and let people choose for themselves... Thanks again.
ETA: Holly, we want to go out as far as we can, but on the north fork since that makes the most sense for us. Thanks...

there are a ton of hotels in the greenport/southold area....FM KPTOYS...she is more familiar with them out there than I am since she is From that area!!

My friends have stayed at the Sound view Inn and RAVE about it...its overlooking the water..its beautiful!

Laurie - I forgot to tell you that I heard really good things about the Soundview Inn (awesome restaurant also) but they are booked on my date.
Karacg was the reviewer of the Santorini - you may want to FM her about the 'conditions' there.
Also look into The Drossos Motel - very clean, a little 'dated' but the lady who runs it is so sweet and accomodating.

We are getting married in Westhampton and blocked rooms at the Best Western in Riverhead. Another option might be the Marriott in Islip.
Just FYI on the Best Western - if you have a fax machine, get them to fax you the contracts. They seem slow to get things into the mail and it took over two weeks for the contract and info on a post-wed brunch to arrive.

I would check the best western, a friend of my moms is a cop out there and said it wasnt the best hotel. I am in the process of looking for out there as well, I checked into the Hampton Inn, Radisson which were both exit 63 off the LIE. Going to look into a few more before i decide. Let me know what you find.
