Blocking hotels in New York City

All my rooms are already booked, so I need to block rooms in another hotel in Manhattan. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What kind of place are you looking for? A co-worker of mine stays at On the Avenue on the upper west side whenever she is in NYC on business. Another loves the Hyatt on 42nd St between 7th and 8th Aves. I also feel like I read about the Grammery Hotel being a very nice place. I am a big fan of the website www.tripadvisor.com for reviews on hotels.

My sister used to work at the Roosevelt - Madison and 45th - great location, just renovated, a beautiful old NY style hotel.

Another website worth checking is www.bookingbuddy.com -- it checks all the prices on different places. Do you know where in the city you are looking east side, west side, downtown??

Shelly you may have a hard time booking hotels in the downtown Manhattan area because The Republican Convention will be taking place. I had to book a hotel on 57th street (Howard Johnson) due to the above.

I don't want to book downtown. I am looking for something in midtown. We live on the UWS and hopefully we will be having a bus take people from midtown to the wedding.
