Blocking Out Rooms
Ladies who've blocked out hotel rooms for their weddings, please tell me how this works. I have no idea. Do you have to guarantee a certain number of rooms? Is there money up front? I am so clueless. Thanks!

our hotel let us block a max of 30 rooms at a time at a certain rate...then once those 30 booked up they'd release an additional 15 and so on. u're not responsible to pay for any of them - ur guests have up to a certain date to book & then the rate goes back up & the rooms are released. i just gave my guests a heads up to book asap because they had up to 24hrs before to cancel..better to have a room then to lose out on the deal!
ps: no money up front either
we had to block in groups of ten and they guarentee at least 7 and if those were not taken by the time of the wedding u had to cover them..no money up front we just put down a credit card and that would get charged if we didnt cover the rooms..hth
Our hotel blocked 10 rooms and then will add more if needed- a special rate is given to us for our guest but they must book the room one month before the wedding or they have to pay reg rate for the room- our hotel will also not charge us anything for rooms not taken and also will give our oot boxes at no additional charge.(so hotels charge a fee for that) make sure you check will you hotel on everything!!!!! Plus we got a suite for the 3 days before our wedding at a great rate!!!!
