OK Im so confused about this situation- my church is in Queens and the reception is in Long Island- where do I block rooms?

i would block by the recption hall because that is where people will be by the end of the night.....aka when they are trashed It also works out nice if you have a little time in between. your guests can go to the hotel after the ceremony and check in, maybe hang out for a few then go to CH.

yeah i think the rooms should be blocked closer to the reception site...since ppl will be having some drinks and such and it's better to be closer to the hall.
while just about all my guests will be flying into la guardia or kennedy---i'm making sure their rooms are close to smithtown where the wedding will be.
