When you block w/ a hotel, do you have to pay for the rooms? what if you say you need 10 rooms and only 7 are used?

Re: blocking rooms ?
no its just a contract. They release the unwanted rooms out of a block a month before your wedding. You DO NOT PAY for the unused rooms.

Re: blocking rooms ?
I've heard of certain hotels making you guarantee a certain number of rooms. I think maybe the Hyatt in Hauppauge? Definitely ask that question when you're calling hotels just to be on the safe side!

at the Hyatt Hauppague you have to guarantee 10 rooms, but can block off more and are release a moth before but if the 10 rooms are not booked you are reasponsible for the difference. I am meeting with them Friday so I will give you an update.

We blocked our rooms at this hotel and if you do not book 10 rooms you are responsible for those rooms, so only book here if you know you will have 10 rooms....if you have any other questions let me know

Re: blocking rooms ?
I Blocked 20 rooms off at the Marriott in Uniondale. Prob wont need all them, but I have alot of out of towners, so just to be safe. They have to be booked by the guests a month prior to the wedding date, otherwise they release them. So there is no being charged for rooms unused.
