Do you get a better rate if you block rooms at a hotel for OOT guests? Do you have to give a deposit? I have relatives coming from Ireland but I'm not quite sure how many are coming yet so do I block more/less rooms? Thanks

Re: Blocking rooms
It depends on the hotel ... but all the ones I spoke with didnt' require anything financially from us. You sign an 'agreement' with them that lists the rate and how many rooms are in your block, and that they will release the rooms into circulation a month before the wedding.
I would block more rooms ... we blocked off as many as the hotel would allow us to.

you dont pay to block rooms, and yes you get a better rate...you dont need to know how many to block yet, you can block as much as you want so block as if everyone is coming...whatever doesnt get booked they just re-release and thats it

Re: Blocking rooms
Yes we are thinking about 1 hotel and they are giving us 25% off and we have the option to either save $200 on our suite or have a free roundtrip shuttle for our guests to and from the RH.

Re: Blocking rooms
i booked rooms all ready cheaper rate ten room mins for every hotel i looked at. No depo for the places i looked at. I really liked the fact you can cancel at any time and no issue.

Re: Blocking rooms
You should get a nice discount and we did not have to pay a deposit
