So we're getting married at the Old Field Club in Setauket and we've blocked off rooms already at Danford's Inn (which is beautiful). We checked out the Three Village Inn & the Holiday Inn Express, that are nearby but the rooms are just as expensive and they're not as nice as Danford's. We're looking for a cheaper alternative that's somewhat close, but Econolodge seems to be a little too 'economical' if you catch my drift. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm completely open to B&Bs. We're looking for something that's in the $100-$149 range to offer my guests that's not a motel (or looks like a motel, lol).

Your best bet might be the hotels near the Islip airport. I also tried looking around for cheaper alternatives to Danford's (which we're using too) but couldn't find any that close. Let me know if anything pops up!!

THE MARRIOT COURTYARD...
I BOOKED THERE AND THEY WER FANTASTIC AND THE HOTEL WAS A HECK OF A LOT NICER THAN THE OTHER OPTIONS...WE GOT A GREAT DEAL ON A SHUTTLE ALSO..

what about some hotesl on 347?? i know the holiday express offers a discount to stony brook alumni, i would lie to see if you could get a better right that way....or what about that hotel near island 16?? at least its right near the LIE.

Three Village Inn. It's just down the road from the OFC.
The rooms are cottages and are on the pricier side but they are beautiful. HTH.

We looked at the Holiday Inn Express and their group rate was almost the same as Danford's group rate and it's no where near as nice so we don't want to use them. I don't know about the hotel near Island 16 though. What is that?

Yeah we looked at the Three Village Inn. It was pricey and not that nice (IMO) for what they were charging. I found Danford's to be nicer and cheaper. I'm looking for a second cheaper option for my guests, but I don't want something tacky or skeezy, you know?

Hi Aug07OFCbride!! I didn't look at the Sheraton so where is that? I have the Courtyard Marriott on my list to go see, but I really didn't like the Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook when we went. The accommodations there were fine, but they were off their rocker w/pricing. I think they wanted to charge like $169/night and that was the GROUP RATE!! For that I might as well have my guests stay at Danford's for a couple of dollars more, you know? I'm trying to find a second option for like $100-$139/night. The Sheraton might be a good option though. What town is that in?

I think the Holiday Inn Express was like $150 when we blocked and it incl contintenal breakfast the next day. But I think you can no longer do a bar with them. In that area, no other hotels besides what you mentioned. There is off exit 61-Marriot and exit 63 Hampton Inn, these are not close options but you can look into a shuttle service and see if overall it is cheaper (lindsey good shuttle service)

I know Port Jefferson Village has a few B&Bs (not sure of there names) and its pretty close by to Setauket.

There is a little B&B right on 25 just up the hill from Danford's. It's on your right if you are going from Old Field to Pt. Jeff, called the Holly Berry B&B. I've never been there, but I grew up in the area and its very cute from the street.
