Bloomigdales Customer Service is in another country!

I had a problem with my account where I paid through online banking but it went to another person's account And when you call Bloomingdale's Customer Service you are really calling another country where you can barely understand the operators GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Not having a great day today!

I basically told the guy off and said that I wanted to speak to someone in the 'good old United States' and he couldn't give me a number so I hung up

I used to hate the fact that outsourcing was doing the customer service. But now I think they are nicer/more polite/patient to deal with then some of the spazzy customer service reps I have dealt with in this country.

Yup, I called a customer service number for something computer related a while back, either Dell or HP.... the guy said he was in India and that I was patched through their US 800 # based in California!

It was soooo annoying especially since I have now paid someone else's bill...I want someone who is in the US!

It is annoying that they made a mistake and credited someone else's account rather then yours. But it doesn't sound like it was because CS was from another country.

Reality is outsourcing is here to stay. Maybe I am too close to the issue, I work with Brazil, China, and India every day with outsourcing. But in my experience, especially with India, they have just as good communication skills, are more patient, well-educated, and have great follow through.

I should add that... (and I was so surprised) I felt the same way. Until he told me, I had no idea I was speaking with someone in India. He did have a very slight accent but spoke very well. Knew what he was talking about, AND was able to help me with my problem.
Patient? I think we were on the phone close to an hour.
I can't remmber getting that kind of customer service here. I think they should outsource Insurance Co's C/S (namely GHI and Aetna) or get some training from overseas. You call, and as soon as you hang up the phone its like you never had the conversation, nothing gets done. I swear they dump your paperwork after they hang up with you.

There is a crazy percentage of calls outsourced to India these days because it is so cheap.

I am a former employee of Capital One, who laid off 3,000 employees due to outsourcing..and my friend was recently laid off from Verizon, I feel like it is the same thing as buying american cars, or made in america products.

I was on the phone with Dell tech support for 3 hours last night screaming my head off because the 'gentleman' on the other end could not understand me and I wanted to speak to someone that could speak English and understand English. I told him you have 2 options patch me through to someone in the US or get me someone who speaks Spanish. He said he couldn't transfer me like that and that I could just keep calling their 1-800 number until I get someone that I am comfortable with (this was after sitting on hold for 45 minutes). I do not think that my next purchase will be from Dell just because of that.
