Help! I went for my final fitting on Thursday and though the dress looked great, only a few adjustments, my sensitive skin quickly became red and irritated from the lace and beading, under my arms around my back and across my chest. Has anyone else had this problem and can reccommend something. I don't want to look like a hive princess in all of the wedding photos.

Re: blotchy skin
Oh I am sorry... Maybe some body powder (?).
I tried on a few beaded strapless and that happened to me. So I made sure my dress would not.

That's my biggest fear for the wedding day. I have very very sensitve skin as well. Just by being nervous or aggravated can give me blotchy skin all over my neck and chest. If I find a cure or you find one...let me know!!!

Totally stinks I even get like that when I'm drinking too. I hate wearing tanks in the summer when I'm not tan. Its inevitable!!

Wow! I have the same problem, and always thought I was the only freak out there that this happened to. Whenever I'm nervous, or even excited, I turn all red and blotchy and people start asking if I have a rash. Uggghhh! When I first started talking about looking for wedding dresses, more than one person mentioned to me that I need to find one with a turtleneck. Hee, now that would be interesting. The way I figure it, the people at my wedding will be people who know me and love me, and they all know that this happens to me, so I'll just take it in stride, be blotchy, and be happy.
...unless someone discovers a cure before then? Any PhD students out there looking for a thesis idea? I'll be in your clinical trials, promise.

Re: blotchy skin
i have the same problem! and i too have been told to find a turtleneck bridal gown---which clearly didn't happen! i always get this one big red blotch in the center of my neck, and everyone's always asking if i scratched myself or if i'm nervous about something. i guess i just have to hope it doesn't happen on my wedding day! if it does, i suppose the photographer will have lots of editing to do!!!!!

I am the queen of the blotches too....I find that when I am tan you don't notice it as much...so I plan to be tan!

Re: blotchy skin
I have the same issue. My biggest fear is waking up on my wedding day with (what my dermatologist calls) Rosaeza. I suggest you call your dermatologist's office and request an emergency appointment and receive some meds. There has got to be a remedy for those of us who are allergic to uncommon things (I am allergic to newspaper, I sneeze like crazy, and a ton of other things.....the 24 hour Allegra-D does not work for me).
The other suggestion I would have would be to take some shots of apple cider vinegar for a week or so before your big day- it works for everything. Good luck!!!!! Please let me know what works.

Re: blotchy skin
Thanks girls, it's nice to know I'm not alone in my blotchy skin situation. I will try the apple cider vinegar, that is if I can stomach it. My dermatologist says it's a form of hives due to nervousness and allergies that has no cure. Gee, I wonder what I have to be nervous about!
