Blue Cheese?

Does anyone know if eating Blue Cheese BEFORE you even find out you are preggo, if you are preggo (maybe a week after conception if conception occured) can hurt the baby?

I couldn't resist......... :((

If you had it one time I am sure there is no problem... I think they dont want you to eat it throughout the whole pregnancy because the risk of bacteria.

ETA - my doctor said the baby doesnt get anything from the mother until you are about 6-7 weeks.. So anything you have had, including alcohol, shouldnt harm the baby... He said a lot of women come in all upset because they drank, but didnt know they were pregnant and he said its ok.

So blue cheese is something that pg women shouldn't eat?

I know about certain fish bc they may contain mercury, but I didn't know about blue cheese.

I did know about the soft cheeses.... Good to know bc I actually did have blue cheese dressing with some wings last week, but I know I didn't eat any of the chunks. I guess I'll have to find something else for my wings

I ate it my whole pregnancy and Gabriella came out fine...

I posted, a long while back, that soft cheeses are OK providing they are made from pasteurized milk.
