Blue Cheese?

Does anyone know if eating Blue Cheese BEFORE you even find out you are preggo, if you are preggo (maybe a week after conception if conception occured) can hurt the baby?

I couldn't resist......... :((

I don't think so - I didn't even know that you couldnt eat it.
But - just so you know - I have a very healthy child at home - Bleu Cheese is my favorite dressing on salad and I'm sure that I ate it while I was Preggo, and that was 7 years ago.

Blue cheese is a no no while you are pregnant. You are not supposed to eat soft cheeses. I have been dying for feta cheese this whole pregnancy, but unfortunatly can't give into my temptation.

As for eating Blue Cheese before you find out you are pregnant, I don't think will hurt the baby. I know many people who have smoked/drank before they found out they were pregnant and everything turnd out fine.

You can eat these cheeses as long as they are 'pasteurized', and they are! If you go abroad they are not. For example, you can eat feta becasue the FDD (food and drug admin) makes it law that cheeses NEED to be pasteurized, if not, there would be ALOT of sick people here, espeically kids and the elderly. If you buy cheese from speciality cheese stores that carry the 'real thing' from abroad, they have licences to carry that type of food, so be careful.
