I just wrote this whole long post and my computer froze! Okay, I have a dilemma. My Bm are all ordering dresses from davids bridal. My SIL is pregnant and does not want to call in her measurements until after she gives birth so that she doesn't have 'extra' fittings because of a too large dress. Well, the problem? She isn't due til June and she is kind of like me, big boned so after the baby, she is probably going to say she doesn't want to be measured because of baby fat. So...my questions are: has anyone ever been in this situation before? has anyone ever ordered bm dresses from Davids before and how long does it take to come in? Because it'll hold up all my other girls too.

Re: bm dilemma
Wow. I am not in your situation. However, I ordered my BM and FG dresses from Davids on 1/29/05. The FG was projected to arrive on 3/12. It arrived Monday 2/7. Over a month early. MY BM dresses are scheduled to arrive on 3/26. I am expecting them to arrive before that date too.
If I were you, I would hold off till June. You have plenty of time. Your wedding is not until December. The dresses come in 6 to 8 weeks and judging from the arrival of my FG dress it can be quicker than that.

Re: bm dilemma
I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Your wedding is in December, so I am sure that by than she'll be able to get mesured and get the dress. Even if she orders it in August, she will still have time to get the dress and all.

Re: bm dilemma
I have ordered numerous BM dresses from David's Bridal and all have come in within 2 months. ALSO, my friend was in a similar situation except that the 2 BMs were due 1-2 months before the wedding, they both ordered I think 1 size larger than they normally would and didn't have any problems.

Re: bm dilemma
My girlfriend in getting married 3-12-05 and our BM dresses are from David's. I went in August to get measured and order the dress and they told me that it would be in by November. About 4 weeks after I ordered the dress they called me and it was already in! The only thing I would make sure is that the dress you plan on ordering will still be available by the time you are ready to order them. Only because I know that they discontinue dresses and come out with new ones all the time- so if your dress will be discontinued than you will have to place the order asap. That's what happened to us. But it all worked out well.

Re: bm dilemma
I second the discontinue comment. It happened to me and I had to call (and eventually an associate from Albany Davids Bridal called) until we had all the dresses off the rack. The good thing, the dresses where less than half price!
