SHe said she may not pass throguht this portion, or get cut, but she wont know. i am an anal narotic person, i cant live on the edge like this, i dont know what to do. she said she would understand if i wanted to ask someone else, but how would that look to my close friends? They know my bridal party, and i dont want them to think that they are second choice. i am so confused and i cant stop crying. please give me advice. Thanks so much girls!

I had a similar situation with one of my groomsmen. His bride-to-be is pregnant and found out she is due on my wedding weekend!! After mush thought, we asked him to step down. We said that if all is well,we would hope he would attend, but we did not want to rely on him in case he couldn't. He was not offended at all...and I don;t think anyone else would be either.

HTH!!

If you don't want your other friends to think they are 'second choice' then don't replace her. Just let it be that she will be a BM if she can (and if she is willing to buy the dress knowing she might not use it), and if not, you will have one less girl.

FH has more attendants than I do, and it's no big deal.

CONGRATULATE HER!!! Great career advancement!

You still need to think about friends during this planning time. No biggie. You'll adjust.

You could always have someone else in mind or just leave the spot for her and hope she can make it. It isnt the end of the world to have an uneven # of people in your wedding party.

I did congratulate her. this is what i told her what do you think. she already ordered her dress, so i said i have someone else i am going to ask, and since i was only doing brothers and sisters, i asked her to read, i figured i would tell her i wanted her from the start, but because we were trying to keep it small, we would know like her to do it. i told my original bm that if things dont go through that she would still be a bm. i didnt want her to feel like i was telling her not to be in it. do i want uneven numbers, no, but i dont want to hurt anyone either.

We had a similar situation come up, except it was our best man who is not going to make it...however, we had a back up for the best man from day one (and the person who was our back up knew this from day one) so, we constantly were going back and forth trying to figure out what to do...we didn't want uneven number either. Eventually we decided to add another groomsman, but we used a teenager, and he is more than excited to be a grooms man. It all worked out for us. We felt the same way about asking other friends to replace a grooms man spot. It is hard because you don't want to hurt peoples feelings.

It is also difficult, because i have to have this girl order a dress, and it takes 3-4 months, so i need to get on the ball.

Congratulate her. Have her decide if she wants to get the dress, even if she doesn't use it that day. And if she doesn't make it that far, then she can be in it.

My bridal party is uneven. I just had a BM and GM drop out this week. So, it's still uneven. You can't plan for everything.
