BM DRAMA!!!!

Hi Ladies-
Ok help, tell me what you think!!
My great friend from college just emailed me to back out of the wedding party!
I should have known she is one of those gets a bf then doesnt call and cancels plans a lot but I ave always been there for her.
Well she emails me this morning to tell me her best friend is getting married the same weekend and she cant be in my wedding. Ok I understand that but she EMAILS ME!! I even called her last night to chat and see how her Thanksgiving was and she doesnt have the decency to call me back and tell me.

So what should I do ladies? I think that I will see if she calls me to talk about it like I asked her to when I responded to her email, if I don't get a call, I will be very upset for a long time, if I do get a call I am hoping to talk like adults and move on.

Help ladies!!! Thanks!!!

I think that unfortunately for some of us, our weddings are not only a time of great joy but they are also a time during which we find out who to truly call a friend.
I don't know if she'll contact you to talk about it - it doesn't sound like it from your post; if you want answers, you may have to call her, but I don't think you'll be too happy with the conversation.

I'm really sorry that this happened to you and I hope that if you both are able to talk that your relationship can somehow be salvaged (if that's what you want).

People are so tacky-how hard would it have been to call you up??

I would wait and see if she calls and if not consider yourself lucky that she is not your friend.

I am sorry that this happened.

Thanks so much Jan 06 bride, from her email it basically said I understand if you never want to talk to me again!! That means to me she is not planning on fessing up to it and calling me,
I may call her but you are right I may not hear what I want to so why bother, it should be up to her to own up ti the call but we all know it doesnt always work out like that.

Thanks ladies, I knew you would all understand!

When I got engaged, the first piece of advice that my girlfriend who was planning her wedding gave me was exactly that...you learn who your true friends are. It is really sad that people choose to show their true colors while you are sharing your greatest joy. I am truly sorry that you are going through this

I'm so sorry that happened. Some people don't have no tact. Maybe she'll call you though - it's the least she could do.

Hey... I know how you feel.. My cousin did the exact same thing to me.. backed out of my BP via e-mail. How classy

To play devils advocate, I can only assume that sometimes people better express themselves when they write.. I know I can.. It gives me time to sort out my thoughts & ideas, and avoids all the weirdness involved of talking face to face. However, she should have given you the same respect that you gave her when you asked her to be in your BP.

I so agree that you learn exactly who your friends are throughout the whole wedding planning process. I actually asked on of my BM to step down because instead of us becoming closer.. We were falling more & more apart each day. She could have cared less about my wedding.. but whatever Just remember that what may be the most important day in our lives, is not the most important day in theirs.

Cal this isn't the same girl you were telling me about is it????

She should have called you, rather then writing you an email. Times like these people really show their true colors

She def should have called. Ah well, better you realize the state of ur friendship now then when she's in all your pictures! haha.
I would say its fine, do what ya gotta do, but you really should have called. I'm guessing she felt REALLY guilty and did it to cop out on talking to you and hearing the disapointment in ur voice.
