Ok - so I posted yesterday about how a lot of my bridal party were already cancelling tomorrow when we were supposed to go look at dresses b/c of the snow, when it hadn't even started snowing yet!!
My MOH and I are both NYC-based, so we will still be going to the shop to look at stuff.
I have my #1 dress pick (which is that the shop)and wanted to see if anything else worked, but now that it's going to be like 2 people, I'm wondering if it's OK if we just pick the dress and then make everyone call & order it?
Is that messed up? The only time I've done this when I was a bmaid was when the dress was J. Crew.
I can't really reschedule b/c a) it's hard to coordinate 11 people's scheduels, and b) work is starting to be crazy for me, and I'll def be working on the weekends and we have to order by April!

That's going to be tough, especially if your BP is all different shapes and sizes.
Finding one dress that flatters everyone is hard enough. But to attempt to do that with 10% of the BP...I don't know if it'll work out.
It's only suppossed to be like 3-6 inches...for god's sake, this is NYC, the effing trains run all the time!!!

Is there anyway the girls can go on their own time? Meaning, do you really have to go with them? Personally, I'd at least allow them to try on the style and maybe show you a pic just so you know it works for one and all!

You could.....but I wouldn't.
I had my two MOH's and FSIL come to try on dresses the first time. They narrowed it down to two, and then I emailed pics of the two to the rest of the girls. They voted. Then I had them all (except my OOT BM) try on the one that won the vote. That's the one we went with.
I personally wouldn't pick a dress just because I knew it looked good on ONE girl. I would have to see it on a few of my girls before deciding.

Yeah - have them go on their own time then if they're being pansy-@sses about the snow.
I bet if they had effing tickets to a matinee show on B'way, they wouldn't be so whiny about trekkin' into the city!!!!!!

i tried to incorporate other people's opinions and it was a big mistake. pick the dress taht you and your MOH like. the others will be happy bc they're doing it for you.
trust me, 11 opinions will give you the wrost headache and someone will be disappointed no matter what.

I have 7 girls, took 3 with me, and picked it out. I did not give options.
I've also been in BPs where I was not involved in the dress decision, just told how and where to order.
Never bothered me not to have a choice.

agreed.
i have 9 girls. i invited all of them but only 4 could come. We found a dress that they all loved and flattered them all. So we picked that and just told the other 5 girls that is what they have to order.
I dont feel bad bc i gave them all the option to go...and i have been in bridal parties when I didnt even have that. just told what to order.
don't stress out. if only a few girls can make it im sure the other girls will be fine.

There's no way you can make 11 people happy!!
When I picked out the BM dresses, I brought the 2 girls in my BP that were my biggest concern. They aren't plus size by any means, but they're a curvy size 10/12. The rest of the girls are between sizes 2 and 6. I also brought my sister because I like her taste.
We found a dress that I loved and it looked GREAT on them! VERY flattering!
The other girls seem to like the dress too, but mainly they say, 'Becca, it's your wedding and I'll wear anything you want me to wear!'

I picked the dress w my sister and didn't ask anyone's opinions. LoL I know that sounds mean but to me getting all those girls together is more of a headache than anything. I'm also in a wedding in March where my opinion was not asked and frankly, it made it easier for me not to have to find the time to shop. I say go ahead and pick the dress. Just try to consider what you think most people will like.

I think you should tell them that they can either come with you and have an opinion or chose not to come (because of the snowflakes) and have the choice be made for them.
You have done everything you can to schedule this appt. for them--ESPECIALLY b/c we are getting, like 3-6 inches at most, its ridiculous to use that excuse.
I was not given the choice for bridesmaid dresses in the past, only recently for my MOH. I am giving my BM a choice of style but thats just b/c its J. Crew and easy.
You are being very fair and I know Bella Bridesmaid is impossible to get an appt with

I picked a dress and only had 2 of my BMs with me. It's impossible to find something everyone likes even if they are all there so my vote is for not making yourself crazy... just be considerate and know that if you have a few bigger girls you're not going to pick a mermaid style or something that is really slim... I think it's fine. You offered to have them all come with you and they're backing out so this is on them.
