BM Dress Deposit (mini vent and sorry long!!!)

So a few weeks ago one of my BM and I went dress shopping. We weren't expecting to really do much, but figured we'd take a look. THe store was running a special that if you put a deposit down on the dress the first time yuo're there they'll give you a % off plus an additional $ amount. This was so much less than I had seen the dress before and my BM thought it was a great deal so we figured we'd do it. The store wanted $50 down but my BM didnt have the money on her. Since we wanted to keep the deal, I gave the $50....

FH says to me the other day, 'are you getting that money back from her?' and I figured that was a given, so I texted her to tell her that my cc was due on x date so she can give me the money whenever before then and she goes 'huh?'

Do you think given the situation it seemed like I was paying the deposit and she wasn't responsible for it? I was in her wedding and literally paid for everything (dress, dyed shoes, hair, make up) so she knows how things work.

Thoughts???

that is strange. i wouldve thought it was a loan unless the person said 'let me pay for this for you'.

Wow- If I was the bridesmaid, I would have known that you were just loaning me the $$. Did you respond to her “huh” text?

Not yet because I thought that maybe I was being dumb and it looked like I was giving it to her! I figured you ladies could help me out and tell me what to say! :)

I think it depends on what you said when you paid it at that time.
