Waaaaay back in October My MOH and I went to DB and picked out the color and style of the BM dresses. Fast Foward to today March 15th. I get a call from my FSIL saying that she tried on the dress and is worried about her arms and legs being out.The color I chose, only comes in 3 styles. My MOH has already ordered her dress and I have ordered my invites based on the dress color so it is too late to a) change the color or b) change the dress.
My other FSIL is also very reserved and has also mentioned perhaps adding a shawl/bieng worried about her arms and legs.
Here is thing. How do I balance my FSIL's being comfortable with having the wedding that I pictured all this time..... what the heck too so long to discover you dont like the dress? we are less than 6 months away!!! I gave her the style number to the other dress that comes in the color ( it has straps) and am hoping that it will work. ( the 3rd dress in the pic below)
I made selecting the dress a democratic process..I asked them to forward pics/ styles that they liked. At the end of the day my MOH and I made the decision b/c no one wanted to step up with suggestions.... in my mind I want to say get with it or dont be in the wedding BUT I love My FSIL's ..... what do I do???

Re: BM Dress Drama
explain that the MOH dress is ordered and the invites with the color scheme are ordered and that's the dress you like....You can def find a shawl for them to wear to cover up. They should have spoken up sooner....

Re: BM Dress Drama
Can they just wear a shawl if they dont want their arms showing. If they had a problem they should've said it in the beginning, you can't change everything now. If your MOH ordered her dress then you cant change everything, i mean a MOH can wear a different dress from the bm's but thats only if you want that I guess.

Re: BM Dress Drama
Can you order another dress that matches the MOH dress in the same color for the other BM's? I think my MOH will have a different dress than the other BM's. My MOH is a whole lot heavier than the other BM's so in an effort for her to be comfortable I told her if she doesn't want to wear the dress that the rest of them are wearing we can pick out a different dress for her but in the same color? Also, looks like you will have to find a shawl.
Is it that they are a little heavy? I think the halter neck one would be slimming.

1. is that your dress? it is so cute! I love it!
2. I think you should stick with the dress. . I do think that perhaps a compromise would be a little shrug or a wrap but I don't know if that goes with the look. You could also say - no wrap for pictures but for the rest of the wedding they can do whatever you want. . and those to me look TOTALLY reasonable in terms of length - it's not like they're mini-dresses. And I don't think you could add any length to the bottom b/c it's so designed.

Re: BM Dress Drama
well, your MOH could always be in a different style dress from everyone else... mine is because she hates the way she looks in strapless so i went with a halter for her...
i think they all of a sudden might be worrying about their figure bc time is ticking and maybe they thought they would lose weight/tone the parts they dont like, but didnt happen and are now getting down to the wire with ordering their dresses...
dont stress the look... really... let them be comfortable too... i think if you sacrfice your 'look' a bit... you will have much happier BM's on your big day... and it'll show in the pics
ETA: i would let them get a diff top, but length you cant do much about... and they shoud undersand that at least

thanks.
The middle dress is the org dress. The 1st dress is the dress my MOH chose so she could stand out. and the 3rd dress is the only other option.
I am not a fan of the mix and match BM look ( they can all have diff shoes, hair etc but I wanted the same dress)
I agree with the comments about length. the bubble hem may make it hard to alter. As for a shawl. The dresses are so fun and flirty a shawl will make it look old lol we have a morning labor day weekend wedding so I wanted something cute and thought these were perfect.
Both of my FSIL are very pious and reserved. One is a tad bit heavy. I told her I want her to be comfy and it is not like all my BM's are 2's they range in sizes
I am crossing m fingers that they like the 3rd dress

Re: BM Dress Drama
that middle dress is the same dress i'm using, only in plum. well, one bm had to get a bigger size and have it altered to fit, and she was able to choose the length. maybe she can order it in a size or two bigger, and alter it only on top, so it falls below the knee, i'm sure that's what she's uncomfortable about. and then tell her she can get a shawl!
