My wedding is in August with an evening reception (ceremony is 3:30 with pictures following) and I had thought of floor length gowns for the BMs because they seem more formal. Anyway, I just got done talking to my cousin (a BM) and she is saying how she thinks tea-length would be better because it's 'going to be August and it's going to be hot'. But.... what if I want floor length with a light fabric? I mean, I want the BMs to be comfortable but I don't want to seem like bridezilla either.
So, chiffon would be the way to go then? I have no objections to that. Actually I want to avoid satin...

i prefered my girls to be in chiffon satin can get very heavy.... unless you can find a thin satin that is light i would try to stay away from it

Yes I am. My BMs have made the same comment, but I don't feel like I should have a black tie invited wedding and put my BMs in tea length. To me a formal wedding the BMs should be in long.
Its your wedding, your choice. Dont worry what they said.

i was a bm in august and i had a huge,puffy floor lenghth gown and yea i was hot for like 20 min outside..it was no big deal i say get what u want its ur wedding and if u want long then get long..

Any summer brides having floor length BM dresses?
I am having tea length because of the weather. I do not want them to be hot. I was a BM in the summer with a floor length gown and I was hot. But my Reception is in the afternoon.

i'm getting married in july and we're having full-length dresses. i even asked my BMs what they thought about doing short dresses since it would be summer and THEY said it would make it sorta casual. i don't think you're being unreasonable.

Wait it out and see what they say. I mean when it comes down to trying on dresses they might fall in love with a long dress and you might actually fall in love with a tealength. I don't think it's worth harping over now... or getting upset about it. just prepare yourself.. and whenyou guys go trying on dresses.. you can push for the dresses more in your direction.

My wedding is 8/23 and my BM are wearing satin floor lenth gowns. I originally picked out tea length gowns and then changed them b/c I felt they were not dressy enough. You have to pick a BM dress you like. MANY BM have worn gowns in August.

Get whatever you want... your rh will be air conditioned! I'm getting married in the fall and I'm having tea length because thats what I wanted. You're the bride - that means you're the boss!
