BM Dress Frustration

BM Dress Frustration

I am a bridesmaid in my MOH's wedding in November.
I called the shop to order my dress for her wedding and they tried to charge me the wrong price twice. I had to keep double checking with her to make sure I was getting the right price, I'm so glad I was talking to her on AIM at the time.

Well, I was told there was a cap on the alterations, and mentioned the cap to the girl taking my order b/c I wanted to make sure they didn't try to give me a higher cap like they tried to do with the price of the dress in general. The girl said 'Yup, that's our cap'
I said, cool and she sent me the order form.

I got the order form today and there was no Cap written in so I called the shop and was told that my alterations will not be capped b/c I ordered over the phone.

I can understand the reasoning, but I specifically mentioned the cap when ordering, AND i told them that i could come in to get measured if need be since they are on the Island. She said that b/c I just got married I could use those measurements if I had them.

I am so mad about this, the dress is already over $200 if my alterations aren't capped it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg to have it altered b/c she even told me that they'd have to work on the bust to make it fit.

So, ladies, if you have bridesmaids who need to call in their measurements, talk to your bridal salon and ask if their alterations will be capped like everyone else's.

Ugh I'm sorry, I hate when they're so inefficient

I'm not sure I should say b/c I don't want to upset anyone or anything.

before you order, maybe you should check the price at netbride, pearls place, etc. and then go to a local seamstress-- you might save a lot of money!

It's too late, I already ordered the dress. The bride was very adament about ordering from the same place b/c of the dye lot which i understood. Plus, I got my receipt and order form in the mail today, but the dresses were officially ordered yesterday.

I might use a local seamstress instead though, I'll have to see how it fits when it comes in.
