I am having more trouble choosing colors and BM dresses then i had choosing MY dress!!!! Are you supposed to pick BM dresses that kind of are like your dress? I was just gonna pick anything and my bff told me that i should really pick dresses that GO with my dress! Oh...?

My BM dresses are nothing like mine either.
I looked around for a dress I liked, showed it to the girls, they all tried it on and loved it. I got lucky on that part!
We went to David's Bridal since I had two girls from out of state. It just worked out well.
I actually want the bm dresses to be completely different from my dress. I dont want to look like anyone else.

My dress is a flowly ( i know this isnt a word LOL) material and went for the same look with the bm dresses. Since its a June wedding I was thinking all the dresses in an airy material would be nice, vs something like satin. However 2 of my girls are wearing one style and 2 are wearing another style. Just different cuts bc I know not everyone looks the same or likes the same type of dress =)

I don't even want the BM dresses to look anything like mine.
I've been looking at bridesmaid dresses online and in the stores I've gone into and had a very very hard time finding anything I liked. I've just recently found one I loved online but it's so expensive I feel bad doing that to the girls. Oh well, just keep looking.. something will strike you.

the BM dresses do not have to match yours at all. I've heard of bride's wanting the FG dress to sort of mimic hers fabric wise, but not BM dresses.
Keep searching... something is sure to pop out at you and you'll know that's the dress you want for your girls.

The only thing I took into consideration was the material of my dress to the material of my girls dresses. My dress is Taffeta and I thought Chiffon or Taffeta just accented the dress very well.

i didnt pick mine yet... but my dress is very lacy, so i was trying to incorporate lace into the BM dresses - but nothing has jumped out at me so i think we're just doing whatever me and the girls like best...

It really depends on what you want to do. You're the bride so it doens't matter. My BMs are all wearing different dresses and NONE of them have anything to do with my dress. It's a misconception of weddings. Back in the day BMs were started so that they would look like the bride and fight away, or rather confuse, the evil spirts. It's not like there anymore. Just pick the dress you love and you know your BMS will look great in!

I don't think it has to match your dress per se, but I think you need to match an overall look. For instance, if you have a really romantic and soft, old fashioned looking lace ivory dress, I wouldn't go with hot pink stretch satin sexy gowns.
