ok ladies, I need opinions. I have a few BM dresses I like, they are all similar, so the deciding factor will most likely be the cost. WHEN should I have my BMs order their dresses? I have a lot of situations going on right now:
MOH- just wants to get it done with
BM1 (my sil)- is on ww and refuses to do anything until she loses more weight
BM2 (fh's sil)- is preggo and is due the end of May
BM3 (fh's sil)- can't wait to try on and order
BM4 (friend)- just lost her father, and is now losing his house... so she has a lot going on right now.
so could I wait until june/july? or should I have them try them on now and order now? I'm either ordering from Impressions, Davids Bridal, Bill Levkoff, Alfred Angelo or B2... how long do they take on average?
thanks girls. I really think I want to wait, given all the situations, but my mother and MOH keep telling me to do it now.

my BM dresses came from DB and took about a month or two to come in .... if you order from there, you could def wait till june or july
i don't know bout the other designers, sorry

Sorry to say it but I wouldnt wait much longer than april or may...some designers take around 6 months or so to come in...

if you go with DB they will come in super quick. So then you can wait till the summer to order. I dont know about anywhere else

My BMs wore B2 dresses. I was told to get the order in my the end of Jan. for the dresses to be in with enough time for the girls to get them altered before my late Aug. wedding.
We placed the order towards the end of Jan. and the dresses arrived by mid-late June.

i think you can wait about an other month. my girls have their deadline for the end of this month to get in and get measured and order the dress. they say about 6 months before.

first you should find out how long they take to come in... then i think if you can wait a little but since one of your bms is going through some financial/emotional stuff and your moh is preggo.... the one that wants to lose wait can order the size she is now and then take it in (its easier to take it in than let it out)

I agree! I have a pregnant BM too. I'll order hers big and then deal with it when it comes in!

my sister/MOH is pregnant and will be 8.5 months pregnant the day of my wedding... we went to DB and ordered her a dress like, 5 sizes up from her true size.. its always easier to take a dress in then to let it out! My girls ordered them the beginning of January and I still haven't heard anything yet, so you may want to allow yourself some time just in case. DB dresses are also very reasonably priced so it will help those BM's who can't afford a lot.. the dresses i picked out were on sale for $129!
