BM dress ?....please help (Bill Levkoff)

Hi..me again lol I am so glad to have 'experienced' brides on here to talk to! Here's my newest dilemma:

I have always loved the Bill Levkoff style #966 for my BM's, and recently discovered that style #454 is the same dress with a flower-embroidered sash. Now I like either dress, but have a problem!

So, I was looking at my bosses wedding pics today (she was married last month and looked beautiful!!!!!) and noticed her BP wore the BL #966. It looked AMAZING on all the girls. As I looked closer at the pic, I noticed that on the seam, under the arm of each girl, there was a safety pin. She told me to be very careful when ordering that dress. She wasn't sure if it was a fluke or just what happens to that material.....the morning of the dresses were fitted perfectly, but half way through the day it loosened on them! Their tops were falling off and they had to be safety pinned. Now, if this happened to one girl or even two, then I'd say maybe it was a fluke. But for ALL girls to have it fitted, some tightly, and then to fall off, there must be something wrong with that dress!!!

So, after all this my question is obvious: Did you or anyone you know use the 966 or 454 dress? If so, did this happen to your girls too? TIA and sorry it's so long!

Also, if you used BL, but didn't use either of these dresses, did you have a similar experience?

just wanted to say that we used bill levkoff dresses---simliliar gowns (no sashes--but same shape and material) and there were no problems at all. the gowns stayed up just fine!

perhaps the shop your friend ordered the gowns from--ordered them from a less than reputable manufacturer who didn't do the gowns right?

My 6 BM's used 966 and did not have this problem. They stayed in the dresses all day...and into the night at the hotel. No problems!!! Plus, all shapes and sizes...the dresses looked beautiful on all of my girls.

I had the 966 dresses and they didn't get bigger as the day went on.....never heard of that. The dresses were fine on all of my girls. Good luck!

Phew! What a relief..must've been the shop then. Also, did you have your girl's dresses bustled? Last night we wore a BM dress with a small train and we put safety pins in half-way through the night to avoid stepping on it.

Yes, my girls had a one-button bustle for their train. Honestly, the dresses would have ripped if they didnt because people would have been stepping on them all night.

Both dresses are gorgeous by the way...cant go wrong with either. I love the details on the second one (I had 966 without the embroidery).

Yes, my girls had a one point bustle and it worked out great so nobody was stepping on the dress. I had them cut the sash so that it was the length of the dress when the buslte was up. That way, it was not longer than the dress when it was bustled.

Great idea! Did the sash look funny unbustled, from behind, being that it was shortened?

My girls wore 966 and had no problems.

As for the the train, they had them hemmed off so the gown didn't have a train. I didn't like the way a bustle would look so that was how I avoided the girls tripping on their gowns.

The sash wasn't actually bustled. The train was bustled and the sashes hung. They looked beautiful!
