How many of your girls did you take with you when you went BM dress shopping ?
I have 5 in my wedding party, and this weekend briefly looked with my MOH, but made no decisions.
Is it better to invite all 5 girls, or come up with some ideas and then have the girls decide?
I don't want to offend anyone - but 5 girls making a decision on 1 dress scares me!

I have 6 bridesmaid plus the maid of honor in my bridal party. My MOH went seperately for her dress since she is wearing something different from the girls. I set up an appointment and told the girls about the date. Only 2 wanted to come on that date so those two ( who thankfully were the smallest in the bridal party, size 1, and the largest, size 14) chose the bridesmaid dress. I gave them an overall idea of what i wanted and they chose from that. They chose something that was flattering to all the girls sizes. The other girls couldnt complain since it was those girls who chose the dress and it complimented all body shapes. This worked for me because in the end the girls picked the dress and everyone was invited but only two showed up. The other girls went seperately to order the dresses.

I picked the dress myself with my sister my MOH and then I had the rest (8) of them go try it on and order it.
I never got to pick my dress as a bridesmaid and I wasn't about to let my bm's pick theirs. Sorry if it sounds cruel but it is my wedding and I decide on the dress

No, you're not cruel - EVERYONE in the bridal salon said the same thing. I as well have never been asked but told......was just wondering if it was more the norm?

I have 9 girls & 5 came with me & it was a bit of a nightmare .I think your better off Just taking your MOH. Pick the dress & have them all go on there own for fittings & to see the dress . Too many opinions

You are all so right the more people the more opinions although I wish I could accomodate everyone (you really can't) . I am doing a round 2 (for shopping) and invited everyone but whoever can not make it (it's no biggie) it's kind of easier if you pick out a dress with one or two people and tell the rest that is the choice. It is not to offend anyone in the BPI think it makes it easier & less overwhelming.
