How far in advance is it recommended to order BM dresses? I'm having a prob with one bridesmaid but the summer is flying by and fall is almost here and I think I may need to go in the fall to get them. I just hope it works out - its a long story but her husband is abusive and she swore to us she was leaving but didn't and nobody else wants to be around her and definitely not him :(

BM dress timeline?
I think most BM dresses take 12 weeks to come in. Then factor in time to pick them up and have them altered. I'd say leave minimum 5 months before the wedding at least. So you have some time.
I am so sorry to hear about your BM. That is an awful situation and it takes a lot of courage and confidence to walk out the door. Look into support groups for her. Maybe talking to other women in the same situation will help.

Depends where you go. I am using DB to save the maids some $$. They says 3 months but I ordered one for one of my friends wedding and it came in 3 weeks!

Re: BM dress timeline?
Thanks everyone! I forgot I did want to check out DB also . I'll leave about 5-6 months to do it. I have to go before the winter so I can go with my mom anyway but I didn't know if that was pushing it.

It definitely does take courage and she keeps going back and forth. We have offered to help her find a counselor, etc, but I think she's embarassed and she doesn't want to talk about it a lot. I want to include her and invite her even without him, but he said some really horrible things to my fiance one night while he was drunk (in an email) and I don't want him anywhere near me. The parents of the other girls (we've known each other since childhood) are actually worried for us if he knows that we are all together or that he isn't included. He's incredibly immature and loses his temper so it's just not a safe situation. It's so sad to think that if she can't get away with him I'm going to lose a friend
