BM dresses

BM dresses

Does anyone know of a place where they have a good selection of larger BM dress sizes (14 and up) in the Nassau county area?

The story:
So last weekend we went bridesmaids dress shopping and I had a problem. One of my BMs could not fit into any of the sample dresses they had; they wouldn't even go over her legs. She was a good sport about it, but I feel bad because I wanted to get a feel for what worked for whom.

I've been to three places now and haven't found one and now she and I are going on a solo trip the weekend of the 5th and I am trying to find a good place.

I think David's Bridal has a lot of dresses in many different sizes.

I know its ridiculous how small they make the dresses! I had the same problem, but I spoke with a few bridal salons and they said that they don't pick and choose what color/size dress samples they get from designers.

The salons have to pay extra money in order to get the plus sizes in their stores.
Only a few dresses that are plus size are sent to the salons.

The only one that was flattering on all of my girls was a Bill Levkoff design # 454. Its about $220, but the sample was plus size and after choosing that design, I have noticed 3 other people have used it in their weddings. That cut hides all the lumps and bumps.
Good luck

I looked at your Bill Levkoff style and you know whats funny cheleche1? I had my girls try on the Tea Length version of that dress. Its Bill Levkoff style 625. What I had liked about it was the beading as I think it would pull from my dress.

Yet, I did not see it on two of my girls! (Sample was a size 2?!?)

Went to a second venue and had the same problem.

I just did a forum search and heard many say Davids Bridal and Adriennes . . . I will start there

Thanks for the good luck

I just went to Renatas boutique in lindenhurst last night and really liked that same exact dress. I have a larger girl and wasnt sure how it would look and the sample was a 10 so I am so glad to hear that. They had it for a little cheaper depending on how many u ordered. If you get 6 or more its only like 200 there.

I had the same problem when I first went shopping with my girls... after asking around on here, we then went to bridal reflections in massapequa and they had larger sample sizes, definitely 14 and up. Good luck!
