BM dresses help??

If I am planning on having a spring wedding, would it seem to BLAH for my BM dresses to be ivory? I would like to have a colorful wedding party, but as dumb as it sounds, I don't want to look back in 10 years and say, 'Ugh...why did I chose that color?' You know how you can tell 80s weddings by the color of the BM dresses...I don't want to look back at my pictures and think 'That's a 2006 color' Any suggestions?

The only bad thing about everyone being in ivory is that the pictures may look kind of dull. If you pick some sort of color it makes the dresses pop off the page when you look at the photos. JMO. Since it is a spring wedding you could go with something classic like pastel pinks, blues, or something like that.

Pastal pink is actually what I was thinking. My BMs HATE the color pink though. I will keep looking. Thanks! I agree that the pictures will look a littel bland.

if you get the new issue of jean m catalog, you can see with the ivory dresses look like.

jmo - but to me, you can't really tell who the bride is if it wasn't for the veil.

I would stick to spring colors I think. But you should do what you like

Light colors can look great! Consider a more colorful accent ribbon or trim, or maybe just bright flowers.

I'm having the opposite, black BM dresses and light flowers.

I don't think its blah..

My bridal party will be in Euro Champagne - very similar to Ivory, and I really like the way it looks. Its classic. I am matching all that with red.. ref flowers and stuff. So my color is really Champagne and Red - wich added the color to the wedding.

I think Ivory is too plain, what about violet for the girls, since its summer.

I would pick summer colors. I would think that the BM and the Bride will be so close in color that they would take away from your dress.

Hey, you sound so like me!!!!!

What I did was get a champagne colored dress for them, and it has an ivory sash... it's by Belsoie . . . here is a picture of it, although in the picture it's taupe, and I got champagne, which is lighter and in my opinion, prettier.
Also, you can'T see it but that ivory line around the waist is actually a sash that ties in the back.

oh, and ps, if you did put them in ivory, i think it would be gorgeous . . . just my opinion.

I do think all white weddings (or shades of white, whatever) are so elegant and beautiful. and it takes a lot of confidence to have one since usually the bride is the only one in white . . .

Anyway, in my opinion, it doesn't matter what color the bridesmaids wear, no one will EVER confuse the bm for the bride! GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Girls!!! Don't know what I would do without you! I really like the champagne color idea! I'm not really worried about having my BM dresses look like mine -- if my guests don't know that I am the bride just because my BM are wearing a similar color -they shouldn't be there in the first place! Thanks everyone!!! I really appreciate it!
