BM dresses issues

BM dresses issues

Hi Girls! Well I finally picked out my BM dresses with one of my BM after a long search and several dress changes. Well one of my BM writes me an email about she doesnt think the dress looks good on her. She is the only one being difficult. Do I go over her head and just order them or should I look for a new dress?
Here is a pic of the dress...it will be in Euro Lavender...the color of the dress in the back.

If you like it and the majority likes it..I say keep it. There is no way you will be able to please them all. I have 6!!!

Re: BM dresses issues

That's a simple dress, she can't look too awful in it.

Tell her you wish you could find something everyone likes, but there just isn't time & you think she looks great in it.

It is your wedding and a beautiful dress. Once they get her size she will see that it will look good on her too.

It's a very pretty dress! Was it properly fitted to her when she tried it on? If it hasn't been altered yet, maybe she's having a hard time visualizing how great the finished product will look. Alterations can make a HUGE difference!

Re: BM dresses issues

did she why she doesn't think it will look good? Maybe you can offer to add straps to her dress or let her wear a shawl? I would def. find out what she doesn't like

the way i look at it - its my wedding and its my way. maybe a little $%@!hy but as if we don't have enough to do planning a wedding, then we have someone complaining....

Re: BM dresses issues

personally, i would ask her what she doesn't like baout it.
yes, it is your wedding, and ultimately your choice, but i'd rather have happy bridesmaids than unhappy bridesmaids.
and i know i am uncomfortable about certain parts of my body and when i'm not comfortable in an outfit it shows.....that is going to show in oyur pictures.
just the way i think though!

I agree, I would ask why she doesn't like them. If she says something about it being strapless and that making her nervous, would you be opposed to adding straps? Definitely ask her why?

Re: BM dresses issues

She said she didn't like the dress b/c it makes her look fat...basiclly big around her waist. I think it was that she tried on a way too big dress and it wasn't fitted to her properly. My other BM seem fine, but also no one has seemd to love the dress. I just feel bad b/c I dont have to wear the dress. I really like it..I think that I am just going to have to have things me way. Am I being a spoiled brat?

Re: BM dresses issues

2 of my BM caused a HUGE stink about the dress (they are also my SILs). They didn't want to wear it blah blah blah. I loved it and it was perfect for the theme I was going for. Long story short- they loved it in the end. Infact the one that hated it the most cut it down and wore it to a formal party a couple of weeks later!!!

If you are open to looking at other than do it, if not- it is your day.

I dont think your being spoiled at all!!!

It's your day, you get to pick the dress and if everyone else loves it, then get that one.. which BTW I LOVE!!! good choice!!

Tell her if her waste is too big, then she has 7 months to fix that.. lol j/k

Dont sweat it.. she'll get over it.

Re: BM dresses issues

being a plus size girl i'm very sensitive to these issues. I would freak with your dress. I chose a dress that I thought would look good on all of them and to tell you the truth they still didnt love it. I got it anyway. It depends with your dress. If she is a little heavy she can fix that. If it were me id back out rather than wear it, (because of my weight not the dress). It doesnt seem to be the case here with your girls. Your not being spoiled and the dress is georgeous! If you think she can pull off that dress you have to go for it. I hope what i was trying to say came out right!

i think that dress is beautiful. not everyone will agree on a dress so i would go with the majority.

You're never going to please everybody. If the majority like it and you like it, order it! It's a very pretty dress.

Re: BM dresses issues

I would say if only one didn't like it, than majority rules and she would have to be a good sport. But you said none of them love the dress. Do they hate it? Or are they just not crazy about it? If it's just a matter of 'Eh, not my taste, but okay', then keep it, it's a fabulous dress!
Personally, if all my BM's didn't like the dress, I would try to find something the majority liked. Yes, it's your day, etc., but they are the one's who have to pay for the dress and wear it all day, I would try to be a little more accomodating. Remember, these are girls you love and are close with, who have (hopefully) been there for you. You want them to be comfortable! A comfortable BM is a happy BM, which can only make your life easier!
