What happens if you order BM dresses and when they come in, they are too small (assuming the girls haven't gained weight). The store measured each girl and ordered the appropriate size, but yesterday they came in and look and feel pretty small (I tried one on). Did anyone have this problem or know what they can do about it? It's too late to order another one!

seams maybe have an inch...not sure if an inch is going to cut it though - I never knew much about sewing so I don't know what is possible!
as for putting a rush on it, I didn't ask yet (I will) but the dresses took 14 weeks to come in the first time, so I am not sure that getting new ones in 3 weeks will be possible

I feel your pain! I have one BM that doesn't fit into her dress. It barely fit her (in the largest size) BEFORE we placed the order. That was 8 months before the wedding and she intended to lose the 10 pounds she needed. She managed to GAIN 20 pounds and I freaked. Anyway, she is having whatever she can let out. Beyond that, the dress flairs slightly as it goes down and the hem is way too long so, they are pulling it up from the waist. I don't know if that will help you but, it is an idea.

it's easier to take in then let out...
i would perhaps have the girls try them on asap, if they don't fit, request you keep the small dresses AND order new ones. if the new ones come in and fit better, then return the old ones. have this all in writing somehow...

This happened to two of my sis's BM's. One girl had the wrong size ordered, the other request to have a smaller dress, but ended up getting prego. So both dresses had to be taken out with panels. They can order extra material and add it in. It didn't look bad and if I hadn't known, you would have never known.

if the store measured them... then it is their responsibility to get you the right size! they should take care of it for you where did you get your BM dresses?

THANK YOU - extra material, and girdles, are both great ideas. The girls are trying them on Thursday. (I'd rather not say where I got them until they officially don't fit and then you can FM me).
