i'm totally stressed. we still haven't ordered bm dress, we found something we all liked over the summer but we want to go shopping again just to make sure there's nothing else out there we all love. i wanted to get these things ordered before the holidays b/c people claim poverty during the holidays lol and schedules are crazy blah blah blah. so i don't see a shopping trip happening until after the holidays. we can only go on saturdays b/c my sister lives in the city and it's impossible for her to come out to LI during the week after work, b/c it's too late. and i can't ask them to take time off b/c i don't think they have any days left and neither do i.
am i screwed if i order dresses in january for a july wedding??????

Re: BM Dresses (vent-kinda long)
I think you'll be okay. It doesn't take as long as it does to get in wedding dresses.

Re: BM Dresses (vent-kinda long)
my BMs only ordered their dresses last month, and i'm getting married in feb. BM dresses take a lot less time to come in than your dress, average about 3-4 months, so ordering in jan should be fine.

Re: BM Dresses (vent-kinda long)
i think you are fine if you end up ordering in Jan I am in the same situation as you and hoping to find dresses for them on Nov 4th because once the holidays come around I know they are not going to have extra cash to order - i may have to wait for Jan also (i still think you will have enough time and may even have better selections for the spring/summer collection

Re: BM Dresses (vent-kinda long)
YOU are fine! I'm not ordering mine until next Friday (at RK Bridal) b/c they only take 8-10 weeks... & my girls wanted some time to get their measurements where they wanted them- lol... If you have in mind what dress, just confirm how long they take to come in. Most are 8-10 weeks I think...

Re: BM Dresses (vent-kinda long)
Check with the salon to be sure, but I think BM dresses only take about 4 months.
ugh- sorry its so hard to schedule. It will work out though. Tell them all now to put aside $ for their deposit.

i only went looking with one girl. then picked a dress that no one ever tried on. they got to go in and order it at their leisure as long as it was done by a certain date. if it wasn't ordered by then, they weren't in the bridal party.
i never got a say in any BM dress i wore. i figure that while it's 2007, it's okay to be a little 'old school' and dictatorish about the dress.

I think Jan. will be enough time. Some designers take as little as 5 weeks! So you should be fine!

Don't stress!!!!
If you go to DB it can be even LESS. My sister is the only one that has a dress so far and her dress came in in less than 3 weeks.
BTW how are you feeling?

I think you should be fine, but you could call the salon you were looking at and ask them how long it generally takes for your dresses to come in. I have 6 bridesmaids and some girls on here suggested e-mailing....it works really well for us. When we were going through the deciding process, I was able to put links for dresses I liked, etc. and keep them posted. I tried to really be on the ball and e-mail again if I didn't hear from everyone...good luck to you!!!
