When the wedding comes my BM (stepsister) baby will be 4 months old. She said that she couldnt commit to being in the wedding because of that BF the baby and stuff. I understand where she is coming from but if it were vice versa i would make every effort I can to make that day work for her. ?? Comments opinions?

Re: BM dropped out
That really stinks. I had one girl drop out at the beginning but it was before we even looked at dresses. It's hurtful but now I am glad. She came along with a lot of drama that I don't want around on my wedding day. Maybe you can think of another way for her to feel included without her actually being in the party.

i totally understand if youre upset, but the fact that she was honest and doesnt feel right to commit to something if she doesnt know she will be able to do everything is very commendable.

I totally agree.
My SIL's SIL (yeah, really) declined to be in her wedding b/c she would be pregnant at the time of the wedding. She was worried about wearing the dress, being able to devote time to helping out, etc.
She bought a dress in the same color as the BMs, though, so she looked special and part of the bridal party. She was supportive and wonderful, but honest about not being able to be in the bridal party.
I'm sure she doesn't mean to hurt you -- she just doesn't want to commit to it and disappoint you. Maybe you can find another way to have her be a special part of the day?

totally agree...bc some people stay in bridal parties and they dont do what they should do....contribute ideas....help out .....contribute money etc. bc of what is bogging them down in their own lives....at least she had the guts to say she couldnt commit to it and put her all into it

Truthfully, I think your stepsister might be right on this one... I was still rattled, sleep-deprived and forgetful when my daughter was 4 months old. Besides the fact that you'll have nooo clue what size to get her dress in. There are sooo many variables. I agree with possibly asking her to do a reading during the ceremony or something to keep her included. But I think you're better off having BMs that don't have such a life altering event occuring w/in 4 months of the wedding. JMO.

Re: BM dropped out
I had the same thing happen..one of my bridesmaids dropped out last month, for financial reasons. I was sad for a minute but I told her that I totally understood and that it wasnt a problem..I was just glad she told me so far in advance!

I agree, I know that if one of my girls dropped out for this reason I would be upset but ok with it b/c it is in the end her choice.

I'm sorry she dropped out. I am sure she would love to so it-but at least she understands her limits and was honest early on.

I'm sorry. I don't know maybe more is going on than you know, Money etc. Maybe you could have her do a reading or something else special for the day.Sorry hope it all works out

Re: BM dropped out
Yes, it stinks, but at least she was honest. She realizes she can't concentrate 100% on you on your day and that's what is needed. And it's good she knows it this early.
BTW.... I had 1 BM drop out with 11 weeks to go and another BM drop out 6 weeks before the wedding. You can't control everything.
