BM Gifts

BM Gifts

I had a few ideas in mind, but when I priced everything out it ended up being close to $100 per girl. I have four BM, and with all of our final payments due I really don't have an extra $400 to spend.

I also feel really guilty because one of the girls spent almost $100 making a basket to put in the bathroom at the RH, and refused to let me pay her back. I now almost feel obgliated to spend $100 on her, in which case I'd have to spend the same amount for everyone.

are you able to find things that are discounted or on sale? As part of the BM gifts, I got each of my girls a coach wristlet but got them at the outlet when there was a sale and a coupon so they cost around $20 each. but it is a nice gift.

also, keep in mind that the gift doesn't need to be expensive. it is just a small token to thank them. don't feel obligated to spend $100 just because one of the girls spent that on the basket. she isn't paying for a weddign at the moment and may not be experiencing the financial stress of it. if she isn't willing to accept any money, then give her a heart felt thank you and accept her kindness

ETA: you can also 'pay her back' in a sense by putting together a basket for her wedding if she is currently single, when money isn't so tight

you can't look at it like that.
if she made a basket on her own for your wedding, then consider it a gift. you'll return the favor at one point or another.

as for bp gifts... spend what you can.

i got my girls D&B wristlets from the outlets, sex and the city perfume that was on sale and DOJ (well necklaces) that I got on ebay. I did what I could... my BP understands that DH and I aren't made of money..

we found the best sales and got what we figured everyone would like.

I totally understand your pain. I have been going back and forth between gift ideas for sometime now.

I think I am just going to stick with something simple. I bought my girls coach clutches and now I am looking for something simple to add to it.

I wouldn't worry so much about the cost of the gift, but more the quality and the thought that went into it. If you show that you put a lot of time piecing together the perfect gift, they don't care how much you spent on it! Last time I was in a wedding the bride got us our DOJ but it was actually really cheap and we knew we were never going to wear it again. Along with the DOJ she gave us each a small engraved mirror, and every girl got a different small gift suited for each one of us. I know that this didn't cost $100 but because she catered each gift for us specifically I knew she really appreciated us.

It's probably my own fault for waiting till the last minute!

Today I was thinking about it, and I might give the girls a vera bradley shopping tote with a bottle of wine, a nice picture frame with a picture of the BM and I, and a few other things inside...

I got my girls coach make up bags. I had a 25% of coupon so for 7 girls it cost me 257.00
I am going to put a little BM Emergency kit inside of them.

Oh, and I'm also making them each a scrapbook!

That's a nice idea! I love that! If you need a little extra, they do have BM wine glasses (to go with the wine). At a place at the Source mall.. I think it's called Periwinkle (could be wrong). It's right near Macys.
