BM gits- need opinion

I got all of my bridesmaids a large duffel bag from Vera Bradley each getting a different pattern. They were kind of a splurge and are taking up most of the budgeted money I had for the gifts. I will be able to get some smaller things to put in them.

Now I am wondering if I should get a cheaper duffel from somewhere else so that I have more money to spend on what I am putting in the bags.

What do you girls think I should do? I personally love Vera Bradley and probably wouldn't spend the money on one of her bags for myself, so I thought this was a nice gift. But now I am not sure.

I think it is a very nice idea. Maybe you can put in a tank top with Bridesmaid or Maid of Honor embelished on it? Or some wedding day survival items (tissues, mints, hairspray, tylenol)

I was going to do this too!! I ordered the Big totes and was going to fill with a matching makeup bag, a sweatshirt and some other goodies they could use when they go away for a night.

i ended up changing my mind becausae it went way over budget for me, but still love the idea!!

I think it's a great gift. I know my SIL got one when she was a BM and she uses it all the time. The bride had also given her jewelry (which was pretty, but not expensive) and a wine glass with her name painted on it. Though, I think she got a Vera Bradley tote, not a duffel bag so it was a little less money. I think that's fine. I'd love to get one myself, but like you said, wouldn't spend the money.

I went with a cheap bag and filled it up with alot of different goodies. You can go either way and they will still appreciate it.

I think I will stick with the Vera Bradley bags, I couldn't come up with many nice things to fill the bags, so I would rather get the nicer bags and just put a couple of smalls things in each for the day of

Vera Bradley is a real treat that I think that everyone would love. But, My SIL gave our personalized, heavy-weight canvas tote bags with our names on it--and they were really nice too. I use mine for the beach, gym, everything! I believe that she got them at L.L. Bean.

I don't think that you can go wrong either way. If you think that your girls would know & appreciate a Vera Bradley bag....then go for it!

I spent more money on the DOJ for my girls so a couple other DIY items you could try doing which I did was hand painted wine glasses. I got the glasses from the $1 store and got all the supplies to paint from Michael's and I love them. It's a personal touch that they can display and so easy to make.
