I really want my hair half up and half down for my wedding and my fsil said the other day that she wants her hair half up and half down and I wound up getting upset. In the beginning I didn't think I would care but I just don't want anyone's hair to be close to mine. Are you girls going to tell your bridesmaids to do their hair in a different style than yours?

I actually think it looks nice when BMs hair looks like it goes with the bride.
My friend got married 2 weeks before me and had an updo -- so did all of her bridesmaids (although they were different updos). I never asked, but I assumed she told them to get an updo of their choice.
For my wedding, I told the girls to do whatever they liked. I wanted my hair half up, and everyone else went with a variation of half up or down. One BM asked me if I had a preference bw an updo or half up, and I said whatever she prefers although everyone else was doing half up or down, so she might want to take that info into consideration.
In the end I was really happy with how everyone's hair looked. Mine was the most elaborate (although I kept my veil on all night so it was a little harder to see) but we all had different styles that looked like they went well together. I didn't want my girls to look like clones, I wanted them to be comfortable (I hate my hair all up), and I think it was nice to have a consistent look.
Aaaaaand the point of my ramble is... I'd let your FSIL do half up if that's what she wants, just tell her to have a different style than yours.

I havent spoken to anyone about it yet either but I agree. This may sound silly, but after all that planning and paying for, I want to be the special one on my day. So i wouldnt want my girls to have their hair like mine.

you are the bride, everything on you will look so much different even if its the same style diff peoplelook different with the same hairstyle. I would not worry about how anyone else is doing your hair i think you are just thinking about it too much.
plus you want other people to be comfortable and happy if this person is in your wedding they are spending alot of time and money to be apart of your special day , i think its better for everyone if everyone is comfy

I agree I dont want my girls hair the same as mine! I feel like I really want to stand out . My hair being different will be just another thing to do that!
Im wearing mine up so I told them they can wear it any way they want but all up.

I don't care if they all do it differently just as long as it's not like mine. I guess if their half up half down looks nothing like mine then it's ok.

no i totally understand ..i think im going opposite if i go half up they r going all up and vice versa..dont worry its ur day and u should have final say.if i were a bridesmaid and i have been i did whatever the bride wanted with hair andmakeup no questions asked.some people give free will to style as u please some have preference..it should be up to the bride IMO

I don't think I'll have an issue if someone else does half up half down. I'll be the one in white(ish) and the veil haha. That being said, I'd probably prefer if no one did anything too similar. Judging by my girls though, I highly doubt anyone will go for the same look.
