BM Hair? RP from 07

hey girls i need your opinions...for my wedding i am wearing my hair all up..im trying to be as accomodating as possible when it comes to my BMs..im not making them wear the same shoes or makeup etc, ...however, the only request i really had was to have the same kind of hair 'style' im not saying it all has to be the exact same, but i was going to tell them to all do it half up half down, whatever style of half up half down they wanted...this is b/c my hairs all up and i really really dont like the hair down, i saw pics of a friends wedding when all the hair was different and the down hair was not nice...now that just IMO i know it can be nice, just not my style...am i being unreasonable with my request ?b/c my MOH seems frustrated which is making me frustrated b/c im not being demanding with ANYTHING and this is really the only request i have had as of now...opinions are very much appreciated..

In my opinion, people should wear there how how they see themselves depicted the best. You are, why shouldn't they? They may not like their hair down, or up, or both for that matter.

i asked my girls to wear it all up and they did w/no problem---any updo they wanted---to me it looks neater that way especially for pics and if it was windy-their hair wasn't be blowing in their face.......i don't think that is too much to ask JMO

I was planning to ask them to all wear their hair the same way but now I'm definitely having second thoughts. Maybe your moh wasn't planning to pay to have it done and she's just frustrated about the extra cost...

i would understand that a lil more, but she is planning on getting her hair and her makeup done too....which is why i dont see why its such a problem, im not saying it has to be this exact way just saying id like them all to have it half up half down...i understand its their hair i really do and im not trying to be dictating at all, i have been fine with everything so far, this is the only request i had...sigh

Personally, if someone told me I had to do my hair a certain way, I'd be cranky about it. Pi**ed, even. But that's just me.

if it's a money thing--how about paying for it as part of their BP gift or a percentage of it?? just a thought!

Sorry, I don't agree! I think you are being unreasonable. People should be able to wear their hair, how they want. I would never tell my girls how they have to wear their hair.

I never new why people care so much. Most the pictures being taken are of the Bride and Groom. THose are the most important.

Hair is a personal thing. I would be kinda peeved if I was asked to have my hair up, because I don't like it and it gives me a headache. I know you would like them all to match (I would to) but some girls are really not going to be happy...

I'm wearing my hair half up half down and I told all my girls they had to have it all up in a low bun and they were fine. My MOH is wearing her hair all down to set herself apart (if you've seen The Wedding Crashers, her hair will look like the crazy girl's hair in the beginning of the movie at the wedding). No one had a problem with it at all, they actually preferred I choose because then they wouldn't have to search for hairstyles.

Hey I say its your dayy your wayy.
I asked my girls to all have a down do (whatever down do they wanted) I figure I have been in plenty of weddings where the brides asked for what she wanted and as a friend I understood that it may not be my first choice (especially since most of the time brides request up do's which is my ABSOLUTE least favorite do ever for me) but I did it because it was a friend's BIG day and she chose me to be a BM and stand up for her on her wedding day. So I say BMs should check their egos at the door, and smile!! JMO

IMO I am making my girls wear their hair up, mine will be half up - half down. I dont see why hair is so personal, I mean we are already telling them what to wear. Thats how its been in all the weddings I ve been in so my BP didnt complain. Plus its aug. so they are just happy that I am not making them wear it down.

I think if you cant sacrifice for one day like I would for anybody in my BP than you shouldnt be in my wedding.

I told my girls I preferred that they all wear it up, but I didn't make them wear it up. It's nice for pics if they all look similar, but in the end it's probably better for everyone to be comfortable and like their hairstyles (especially if they're paying for their hairdo that day). 1 BM and my MOH wore their hair half up and the rest wore their hair up. The pics looked fine.

I did the same. They ended up all wearing their hair up (it was brutally hot that day) but I told them they could do whatever they wanted.

Ditto on that. If I were a bridesmaid, I wouldn't mind wearing the same dress inthe same color or the same shoes as the others...however, when it comes to makeup and hair - I'd prefer that to be my choice.
