BM issue-AGAIN!

Just when I thought things were better...
re-arranged the BP how many times, thought it was perfect, that I picked the best people in the world...or as close as I was gonna get...

MY BM is pulling her crap AGAIN! She is the one who when I announced my engagement said ' I'm your Maid of honor..RIGHT'? INice to put me on the spot...(it was a big fat NO anyway)

She lied and lied about getting measured for her dress. She told me once she went there to have it done, then called me 2 hours later for directions? umm....directions to someplace you already went to???

So now, the dresses have to be picked up by the 13th (Thursday) , and she leaves a message on my mom's answering machine, which I accidentally heard saying, she's sorry, she's so tight on money, she cant afford to pay her part of the shower ( big surprise) and shes not sure how to tell me she may not be able to pay for the rest of her dress.

Ok..am I wrong ...she has done nothing, not even SEEN me since I've been engaged. her dress is $130..so she had one YEAR to save it up, and half is paid for, and now suddenly she doesnt have $65 to her name to pick it up?
( yet she drives an Escalade that she pays $700 a MONTH for...) and seems to be out almost every other night. She's not some young kid either...she lives with her BF rent free, is 28 years old and has a 13 year old daughter.

Im soooo sorry to vent, but I truly cannot wait to write this person out of my life. I sound stressed, I'm not, just venting, and wondering..in all honesty...Am I wrong in some way? Maybe in a bridal haze, I'm not seeing something?

She had a YEAR to save up and she doesn't have the $$. I mean I understand everyone has financial problems, but if she had saved like $14/month she would have been good. People spend $$ on what they think is important. 3 of my BM are broke graduate students and another one is a mom working and trying to save $$ for school, but they find $$ for my wedding. I was telling them that I was looking for a makeup artist that would not cost them too much $$ and they were like do whatever you want. If it's $100 to get our makeup done we will do it. Now, if they can do it, you're telling me this girl with the $700 car payment can't.!

Unless she had a major accident , all her stocks suddenly plummetted or some other crazy thing, then she Has NO excuse. Write her off girl, Write her off!! Man, now I'm upset.

totally understandable vent!!!!

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I think you should sit her down and have an adult talk with her, even though she spunds incapable of acting responsible. Let her know that you are willing to handle this like an adult, and you will be the better person for it.

Hang in there....if it was not this it would be something else!

I SO should have done that, or something to save myself the annoyance. ITs so ridiulous. Rigth now, I have been playing phone tag with above mentioned BM for 3 days..and she never leaves a message, knows to call when Im not around, doesnt pick up when I call. ugghh
