BM makeup and hair--who pays?

I'm finally getting around to thinking about this. Girls, who is paying for your BMs to get their hair and makeup done? Are they paying or are you paying?

I've been in the party for two weddings. For the first one (where I was MOH), I paid for my own hair but the bride (my sister) took care of the makeup. For the second wedding, all of the BMs just did their own hair and makeup. In fact, even the BRIDE did her own makeup.

What are you doing?

My hair lady said she would do it. . .but she's coming from Patchogue to Woodbury, so she's told me flat out that she would like at least 2 out of the 4 BMs to get their hair done to make it worth the 45 minute drive (and the $$$, too).

Should I give the girls the option to either have me give them hair or makeup as a part of their BM gift? The things that I'm giving them so far total only $45, which is way less than I was expecting.

see before I would have booked someone I would have seen if they had a minimum - i wanted to go on a trial with someone that had a minimum and my girls were not sure if they would do anything so I didn't even bother going to see her

I didn't even realized that hair people would have minimums, and so I booked before I knew. OOPS!!! I'm hair stupid anyway!!!

yeah it stinks because some people wouldn't think - she should have told you. Have you asked there girls because I know my girls are at least getting there hair done since most people can't do that themselves. If worst comes to worse you will have to pay for one of the services for them

Its up to you. You can give it to them as a gift. Generally if you are demanding they have their makeup and hair done, you should.

Personally they can have their makeup done professionally if they want. I want them to have their hair done but they can go anywhere they want and do up, down, half up, I don't care. So I am not paying for it.

I think they should pay, unless you want to pay and use that as their gift!

im getting the girls their day of jewelry so they will be paying for their own hair and makeup!
