BM question

so my darling FH asked his guys to be in the BP first... we had 5 guys and 5 girls... and one of my friends doesn't want to do it... don't ask me why, she hung up on me when i asked her and i havent heard from her in 3 weeks despite repeated attempts to make contact ... so now I am short a girl, but there is really NO one else I want to ask to stand up there with me... I don't want to ask someone random just for the sake of asking, not to mention i dont even have someone random to ask! AND FH still has ANOTHER guy he wants to ask to be in it!! So I'm down 2 girls I guess...

AAAAAAAAH What do I do? Have the 2 extra guys walk down single file? Uninvite a guy to balance out? Make the 2 extras standard 'ushers' just to seat people, but not to walk? help please!!

Re: BM question

We are having 5 guys, 3 girls. going down the aisle is no biggie (the guys will be up front already and the girls will all walk in alone). for the entrance to the reception & exiting the ceremony we will have MOH/Best man together and then each of the other two girls escorted by one usher on each arm.

on a side note, i'm really sorry to hear about your friends reaction.

Re: BM question

thanks! yeah, it's very odd...she and i lived together for the past 2 years... am hoping that she's just having an episode (she's bipolar) these past few weeks and will be back to her usual self and want to do it soon... but i dont know... makes me sad :(

aww for you-that stinks. I dont think the numbers will be weird. We are a little lopsided as far as the BP. Less girls then guys-so we decided to have two guys walk one girl.
Hope that your friend is ok

Re: BM question

I wouldn't worry, there are a lot of people w/ uneven bridal parties and it all works out. But if she is bipolar, than maybe you could try to talk to her in a few weeks.

Re: BM question

Don't worry about the BP being uneven. We have 4 guys and 6 girls. Two guys are each going to walk down with 2 girls. An uneven bridal party is only a problem if you want it to be. I asked who I wanted (I would have kept it smaller to keep it even, but I couldn't imagine not asking all of my girls) and he asked who he wanted. The BP is about having your best friends by your side at your wedding, not about everything being perfect, IMO.

thanks ladies! I feel better :) and yes, i'm of course going to wait til she resurfaces again to talk to her again, but i just feel bummed out about her reaction

sorry for spreading my drama, i know we hate that here

Re: BM question

Having an uneven amount of guys & girls is perfectly fine. My bridal party keeps changing where the girls are concerned. There are 11 guys incl BM, however, I am down to 6 BMs. I too did not want to throw girls in for the sake of having an even amount. I have a feeling I am losing another BM (what is wrong with these girls???) but FH and I have decided to invite his 4 female cousins into the party. We have wanted them to be apart of our wedding & agree this is a great way to include them. Anyway, this will leave us with either 9 or 10 girls and 11 guys. This is crazy I know but we are happy with our choice!! If you are comfortable with the people you have asked and feel there are no others you care to have with you on YOUR day, your decision has been made!

I wouldn't change anything... let it be a little off! I have a feeling I am going to have more girls than guys myself... but don't let it stress you out!! It will be fine having an odd number--- I promise!

Re: BM question

we have uneven numbers too- I dont have sisters and either does FH and all my cousins are way older than i am... So i asked my three best friends and my 2nd cousin to be a jr bm... those are the people i feel closest too, and fh has 2 brothers , and i have a very good male friend who grew up as my brother who i wanted included and he has close friends, needless to say he has more guys than i have girls and i am fine with it! do what you planned and dont worry about numbers!

Re: BM question

I had five guys and 3 girls -- no problem.

Pick people who you want in the party. It will all work out.

Re: BM question

we had 3 bridesmaids, 1 maid of honor, 4 groomsmen and 1 best man. the best man walked down the isle with DH, the maid of honor was by herself and we had one girl with two guys. hope that helps a little

Re: BM question

Thats fine...I have been to a 'King' wedding (all guys except for the moh). It's actually cool because it's so different. They have 'Queen' ones too!! I wouldnt worry about it. Besides ur friend might come through.

Re: BM question

Our BP is uneven as well. FH has two best men and two GM. I have 1 MOH and 2 BM. The GM will walk down the aisle with 2 BM, the 2 best men will be up front with FH, and MOH will walk alone down the aisle, and with both best men back up the aisle after the ceremony. Same thing for the introductions - MOH with 2 best men. As for the dance with the bridal party, FH refuses to dance more than just the first dance, so I will dance with one best man, and my MOH will dance with the other. I was considering skipping this altogether, but changed my mind.
