Re: bm questions...

Honestly I dont feel it is your obligation to pay, personally speaking Im treating my MOH and two BM that have been super cooperative

Everyone else is on their own

Im not exceeding $115 w/ tip (for the girls)

Re: bm questions...

My person is doing the BMs from 65-85 each per makeup or hair (depending on hair length, etc) and BMs are paying.. Im not forcing them to do it either but I would like them to use her ... I have been to wedding where I was forced to use the lady hired and the last wedding I did both hair and makeup and it came to 200!!! so I think mine is pretty good lol

Re: bm questions...

The last wedding I was in, we all got our make-up and hair done at the Aveda Spa...the Bride paid. I thought that was FANTASTIC of her and though I hated my hair and the fact that the style was mandated....she paid for it so I didn't complain.

I don't have it in my budget to pay for both hair and make up so I am only paying for make-up...I'm paying for it. They can decide if they want to get their hair done with my girl or on their own....or if they want to do their own hair- I'm fine with whatever makes them happy.

I guess the short answer is- if you decide to 'mandate' something, it's gracious to pay for it.

If you're not forcing your BMs to get their m/u done, then they should pay if they want it done.

I'm doing the same. But I'm paying for manis/pedis for my girls the day before the wedding. Ahh...I'm excited!!!

OK You know I deem myself quite knowledgeable on this topic...

BM makeup really shouldn't be more than $100, unless you have the makeup artist traveling from manhattan, which will always up the price.

Find out if the makeup artist for your wedding requires a contract and a specific head count for how many people he/she's doing. So if in this planning, 6 girls are contracted for makeup, then the makeup artist must be paid for 6 girls no matter what. There is no option to change your mind when a contract is involved. Also the makeup artist has to time out their morning accordingly, and nothing's worse than assuming you're doing 3 people and then it ends up being 10 at the last minute. Do you want the artist rushing b/c all these people suddenly decided to get it done? Trust me, it happens ALL THE TIME.

And-you could always inquire if the makeup artist does 'a la carte' makeup, where they wouldn't do the entire face, maybe they would just do eyes, eyes + lashes, etc etc. If the artist does that, then it would cut the bill for your bm's in half most likely.
Let me know what happens.
Good luck G!

Re: bm questions...

Oh yeah, you're not responsible for paying for them on this...unless you are set on it.
It's a nice gesture, but truly most bm's are fine with paying on their own if they want it.

Oh! Sorry Gina, I was confused.
If you aren't requiring it...then it's up to them. I think $90 is alot for bridesmaid make-up...whoever agrees with that is free to go someplace else. Maybe you can recommend a few places nearby?

You're definitely not obligated to pay and if I recall correctly- you have a big bridal party! That would get pricey at $90 pp.

i really dont know what to do...i think ill just suc* it up n find a way to pay for it..fh is going to kill me

Re: bm questions...

Oh Honey- DON'T pay for it if it's not in your budget!

What if you offered to pay for part of it as part of their gift? Like $25-30 towards make-up? That makes it more in line with mainstream pricing and the girls will end up paying $65/$60? That seems more fair.

Re: bm questions...

hmm i like that idea....thanks

u know what really bothers me though..the one girl who is not liking the price..its not a money issue..she has money..she just bought 350 dollar sunglasses..in her opnion she just thinks 90 is too much..which is fine..she has her opnion..but dont knock me for picking this make up artist..just dont use her.... just one of those days

thanks so much for ur help..i think im going to go with ur idea

Re: bm questions...

No. You do not have to pay for make-up. It is optional for the bms to wear it. Technically they can get away with lipgloss and eyeliner. You have enough to focus on.

Happy to help G!

Don't stress anyone's complaints- your girls will pull through and everything will turn out wonderfully!

Sweety Please do not do pay for it! It is your day I belive you have done enough to be cost effective

also accepting to be in a bp is automatically a $500 expense if one couldnt afford it they shouldnt have said yes

Take that money and do a spa day with FH on the honey moon
