I was thinking that they would wear either gold or silver shoes-- their choice.
Is it a big deal if they are not wearing the same color? No one will even notice really, right? It's not like the difference is black or white..
Let's discuss..

Re: BM shoe color
My BM dresses are pink and I am having them wear silver shoes.
They are less of a hassle (you dont have to have them dyed obviously) and there is a possibility they can be worn again.

IMO, I think silver would go better.

Re: BM shoe color
ok- just to clarify, I am not asking which color-- I am asking- do they have to be the same color..
In theory, I would rather let them choose whichever they prefer- gold or silver. But, will it look bad if they are wearing different colors-- a mix of gold and silver, or will no one really even notice.

Re: BM shoe color
it depends on the length of the dress.it really doesn'tmatter what color it is if the dresses are long. but I think that if they are short they should match. maybe diffrent styles of shoes ? think about it.

The dresses are tea length.. middle of the calf. They will each be in different dresses.. so there is really no uniformity. I want each girl to have her personality come out in the dress, etc. I want them to look like them.. I don't really care- I just don't want it to look stupid.

I think it will look great. I like the idea of the girls looking different...

Re: BM shoe color
Since they are wearing different dresses, then I think it's entirely appropriate if they wear different shoes. Plus, they will appreciate the choice!
The only time that can be weird is if all the girls pick silver and one girl picks gold - that might look odd. But still not that big of a deal, really!

Re: BM shoe color
ok-- thanks girls.. I am ecclectic by nature-- and I really prefer that.. I just didn't want it to look bad. I want my girls to spend as little money as possible and if they need to buy shoes- rather it be something they like.

I told my BM to wear whatever they want... I think they will either get shoes dyed or wear silver... their dressese are a deep red...

I think they should be the same color, ESPECIALLY if your BM dresses are tea length. I was in a wedding where the photographer took a picture of our feet and we were all wearing different color shoes...it wasn't pretty (although the bride didn't care, I sure did!) I made all my BMs wear the same color, but allowed them to choose the shoe themselves.

ok- but aside from that picture-- did it really make THAT much of a difference?

No, it didn't make that much of a difference because we wore gowns.
It also stood out to me because one girl wore a silver leather sandal (and she had ugly, non-pedicured feet, lol), another wore a silver fabric shoe, and I wore a shoe dyed to match the gown so they were WAY off. I like a uniform look but I'm like that to an extreme.
The only reason I say that to you is because everyone can see shoes in a tea length gown. If they were floor length it wouldn't matter at all (except for those shoe pics )

Well-- I would tell everyone to get the same type of shoe material-- same color family or not, when everyone is wearing different materials- I think that looks worse..
Who doesn;t get a pedicure before wearing open toe shoes to a wedding?!

don't even get me started on that one...suffice it to say that was 2 years ago this weekend, and that girl still hates me. And I didn't even tell her she had ugly feet
You're 100% right about the different shoe materials. I think what irked me more than anything else.

Re: BM shoe color
I personally couldn't deal with having some of my girls in silver shoes and some girls in gold, it would drive me nuts ( I admit I'm anal, but I prefer to call it being 'detail oriented.') All the girls in silver strappy shoes would look MAHVELOUS, but seeing some in gold would throw off the look in my humble opinion. I tend to like eclectic looks too, but I don't think this is one of them. A pair of pretty silver strappy shoes is a good investment, your girls will get use out of them in the future.
