BM shoes: open toe or close toe

I was thinking picking a close toe shoes for me and the BMs, but one of my BM bring this up: she thinks BM shoes should be different than the Brides shoes and they should be open toe. (she said BM never wore close toe shoes)
is this true????

November . . . close toe

I have never heard that before. My BM's got close toed shoes and I might actually get the same exact ones in an ivory. They were so comfortable and that is all I am worried about. In all actuality nobody is really going to see the shoes so it doesn't really matter (unless the girls are wearing tea length dress and then I still don't think it matters if they are closed or open.)

Im letting them choose their own shoes, as long as they dye them periwinkle.

Re: BM shoes: open toe or close toe

ive never heard of BMs NOT wearing closed toe

i told mine they could choose whatver they want as long as they are the same color

my friend who is getting married in august requested NO open toe shoes because she thinks that with a gown it looks like you have no shoes on - i think it depends on the dress

I told my girls they can wear whatever they want, as long as its closed toe.

Navy, silver, I don't care.

Re: BM shoes: open toe or close toe

sorry, 08er crashing but shoes is a big thing with me
.....my girls can wear whatever shoes they want really. I trust them to choose shoes that will look nice and match (I do have veto power I guess but I'm sure I won't need it). My thing with shoes is, they are on your feet....the feet that you/they are going to be standing on for many many many hours that day. I could not see telling my girls what shoes they have to wear. They HAVE to be comfortable and only they know what is comfortable on their own feet. If I totally didn't trust their taste I might suggest strappy/vs. non-strappy, or what type of material or whatever. But like I said, I trust them to pick out cute shoes.

That said, as far as open vs. closed toe, that's a matter of comfort too, at least I think so. I have to wear closed toe heels to work and open-toe, strappy shoes are so much more comfortable to me, no matter what time of year. If you really would like them to wear a certain type of toe I would at least let them pick the actual shoe that THEY feel is comfortable on their own feet.

I told them they could wear whatever they wanted. Open, closed, flip-flops...whatever they want.

I am wearing closed toe b/c I hate my feet. As far as my BM's, I gave them the option to pick whatever they want. I think most are wearing open toe but I really don't know.

I just want them to be comfortable for the night.

Re: BM shoes: open toe or close toe

thanks girls
actually I really don't care what shoes they are going to wear since the dress is long but 2 of my bm asked me to pick the shoes so they don't have to look for shoes ( I have 3 bms) so I was going to pick 1 is close to mine, but 1 of them told me bm shoes should be open toe and ..(the story I mentioned in the first post so I am not going to repeat) and that's why I am confused...

I am letting my BMs pick whatever shoe makes them comfortable- just the same color. I do not plan on having my shoes match their shoes. I plan on having open toe and I figure they will too. HTH!
