Are you tipping your banquet manager? She has been my main contact and has made everything happen for me...constant e-mails back and forth, taking care of everything. Am I supposed to tip her, or is this her job? I'm not sure what to do.

My mom gave her BM I believe $150 and she gave her Bridal Attendant $200 because she truly was phenomenal (seriously if any Larkfield manor ladies see this... if she's still there.. her name is April and she's truly awesome!) and then she gave her maitre d I believe $300? It was either $250 or $300.
I think it also depends on the venue sometimes too. At my venue my Bridal attendant is also the maitre d along with the BM. So its only two people.
IMO... if they've done an outstanding job with things and she's there at the wedding... I would tip whether its customary or not.

I've never heard of tipping the BM. I haven't spoken to mine too much (I'm getting married in 2 days), so I know I wouldn't do it anyway. But I'm sure they get commission off of booking us to begin with, and since they won't be doing anything on the actual day of my wedding, I find no reason to tip. That's my opinion, tho :)

BM tipping
Try to ask around with others who have used your venue, its a sticky situation. I worked in Catering for Years and at least in the halls I worked for, The BA and MD used to 'tip out' the BM out of what you gave them. Not that I think that it is fair, but I know it went on a lot that they were expected to contribute to the BM since the BM did all the pre-event leg work. So if you do tip all 3, make it clear to each that is for them and them only, just so everyone gets their fair share.
