BM's dresses

Hello everyone,
'07er crashing...Sorry. I just want to give a little advise about this topic. I had a really bad experience the other day with 3 BM dresses and I don't want this to happen to any of you. My wedding is May 18, 2007 and I ordered the girl's dresses in January 2007. They came in March 10th and I went with them to try it on this past weekend. When the girls tried on their dresses before we ordered them, they had ordered the closest to their size.....Well, little did we all know, those dresses are tried on by many girls and are stretched out....So, when my BMs tried on the new dress, they were extremely tight...I thought they gained weight....not the case at all. David's Bridal gives you a free one-time dress change. It is not good for us in this case....My wedding is next month and the dresses will not come in on time if I order them a size bigger.....So, the moral of this is.....For your own good, order your BM's dresses at least 6 months in advance so there is time to get it fixed if there is a problem......Happy planning!!!

I am so sorry to hear about that. Our bridal shop had my BM order the dresses a size up from the
size that they were in. They also measure all of us just to make sure.

Well, to answer your questions...No...the seamstress at Davids Bridal said if the dress was tight around the waist, they can take some out. But because the dress doesn't fit her around the bustline...there is nothing they can do...

I look at it this way, my BMs will at this point have to deal with it. There is nothing anyone can do but try to lose weight before the wedding....I would love to say to them, 'I told you so'.....I wanted to get them ordered in November...they wanted January....
