As soon as I announced I was engaged, girls began to assume they were going to be in my bridal party. While some are extremely good friends of mine, if I had everyone, my party would be huge! If people aren't assuming, then I feel if I want 1, I have to have these other 2...help! I feel like no matter what, someone is going to get hurt!

Re: BMs sour situation
maybe you can just keep your bridal party really small. Do you have any sisters? or a few close friends from when you were young/your home town?

Re: BMs sour situation
exactly.... I have about 8 in my group of friends from junior high. These are girls I've known for over 20 years!
To keep things small, I selected one good friend, and a cousin for the bridal party. That's it.

i have seen people with bridal parties this size. if you have to do 7...do 7. it's so hard b/c you dont want to leave people out. how many groomsmen are your FH having? are you trying to make them even?

Re: BMs sour situation
Hed rather have about 3 or 4 each, including his 2 BFs, my bro, and his bro. He has 2 cousins, but it would come down to me telling him to ask more people bc Id like them to be even. My best friend got married in June and she had 12! The girls were all over the place, and she was so upset bc someone wasnt paying attention or someone couldnt make the RD or who was late, or who didnt follow this... and then she told me she really only talks to me and one other girl from her BP! I dont want that to happen to me!

I would maybe have your sister, FSIL, and your best friend. This way, you keep it small and don't have to pick and choose between your friends.

No matter what you do in your wedding planning, you cannot always please everyone...don't worry about not asking all of your friends...people will understand!

In HS there was a group of 4 of us. One is having me in her wedding! Is it proper to just have one? If anything, shes the one id have (I feel like Im back in HS!)

Re: BMs sour situation
I had 6 and DH had 5, worked out perfectly! I could've asked college friends but then it would be outo f hand. Some of them were really offended and now have left me out of their bridal parties....but I chose my sister and SILs and my 3 best friends from childhood
