BM's who procrastinate

Only one of my 4 bridesmaid's got measured so far - how do I get the rest of them to do it right away and not procrastinate? I don't want to be a nag...

Unfortunately most of my bridesmaid were the saem way. One of them even got fitted three weeks after the Dress store wanted us to order the dresses. If I could do it all over again I would send them all a bridemaid bulletine giving them exact directions on when and where to do everything.

Hope they get more on top of things!

My girls well horrible with this also. Finally I gave them a date and said hey this is the last possible day to order if you don't get there before then you won't have a dress. They all went before the date given.

Yes there are certain BM that are procrastinators... I sent out a BM Newsletter letting them all know the deadline well in advance and what was needed...well my BM dresses should have been ordered the end of January and are just being ordered this week (three of them went when they were suppose 2) ~ I had to get a little naggy and kind of threaten the late charges thing... I had the owner of the dress shop call me last week to let me know we NEED to order these dresses or we are going to have a problem and they wont be in on time if i keep waiting...
Good luck you might have to be alittle naggy...

This is sort of what I did.

I sent them all an email giving them ALL the information - dress style number, color, store, directions, phone number, and store hours! I told them that the dresses had to be ordered by X date to come in on time. Only one of them was late... but that was a looooooong story.

I had this problem too. All but one of my BM ordered their dresses and the other kept procrastinating. The thing that pissed me off was that right after I sent them all the info., she actually went to the store to try it on but didn't bother ordering it. So, after everyone's was done and she still had yet to put in her order I got stern and had to talk to her. It's so easy to assume that since they are all adults, they will act accordingly but that isn't always the case

you HAVE to nag. I know it s ucks, I dont like being a nag either. But they wanted to be a part of this and they have to live up to the job now! Seriously just call them and say- I SCHEDULED YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR WED. NIGHT 7PM! SEE YA THERE! lol!

How about scheduling an appointment that works with both of your schedules and go with her, pick her up if you have to or you can just drag her by the hair

I sent them an email and said that they need to get measured by the end of the week. I gave them the place to call in with their measurements (since it's not close to any of them). I called the dress salon and everyone had their measurements in on time.

I think if I had given them a larger time frame they would have procrastinated but I only gave them a week.

If they all live nearby, make an event out of it. Invite them to go for measuring and then to tea or something like that.

I scheduled a date well in advance, made sure everyone was available and thenwent with them! It was a lot easier this way because everything was done at once.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem, and to make things worse, I have 3 out of 5 BMs out of state, and country!!!!! I sent out emails EVERY week reminding them of their duties...I kinda harrassed them, I told them that I had expected them to order the dresses by Jan. 15th, but all orders were in by Feb. 15th instead!!!! Good thing is that dresses will be in by May and wedding is in July. So I HOPE, to have dresses for them for that date, otherwise, they'll have to buy last minute stuff and would've lost out on paying for the first dress.
OH you may also want to STRESS that dresses take anywhere from 4-12 weeks for delivery, maybe that will change their minds. Just remember they must be ordered all at the same time, otherwise, you may have dresses, w/ different lot colors.

Re: BM's who procrastinate

It took my BM almost 3 months to get measured fromt he time I first mentioned it to her. By the time she did, we had already picked out a dress (she lives out of state so she wasn't with us, but I sent her pics) and once she FINALLY called the dress shop with her measurements, the owner called me to tell me that with her measurements she probably wouldn't be comfortable or look great in the dress. By that time I was already out of the country and couldn't really do much about it, and besides, I figured tough crap for her for waiting so long.
