I originally decided to keep my bridal party small to family members only. This included my sister (moh) and my two cousins (BM's) and a flower girl. However recently I have been thinking about asking my two closest friends (old roomates) to be in it as well, but I am not sure if I should or not. They are great friends and we used to live together but since we all moved we dont get to see eachother that often anymore so I worry what the year will bring. We will always be close but I dont know if I should include them or not.
The reason I want to is because when we do get together we have such a great time!!! and right now the bridal party I have is lacking in that area..One cousin lives far and I dont get to see her and the other just had a baby so she is totally pre-occupied and not into my wedding.
On the other hand i dont want to ask them bc one of them is still in school and the other has been in about 10 weddings so far and might be sick of it.
What do you girls think?

Re: BM's? Yes or No?
I would probably ask them, but that's just me. I originally was going to do the same thing - keep my bridal party to family only, but there are a couple friends I'm just really close to. Sometimes it's not all about 'family', ya know?
Your concerns about the one in school and the one who's been in too many weddings already shouldn't really trouble you too much. They have every right to decline if they feel like they can't handle it. When I asked my BMs to be in it, I told them that i fully understand how expensive and demanding it can be, so i completely understand if they feel that they cannot be a part of it. If it's too much, they'll tell you. Just don't take it personal. My bridal party is filled with people with a lot on their plate. lol. 2 of them are in school and working, 1 is already in several weddings this year, another just got married this past July, and the other has her own wedding only 2 months before mine (I'm in hers as well). So we ALL have issues, but it was important to be a part of each other's big days anyhow.
So if you'd like to have them, you can always ask. Just let 'em know that it's alright if they can't (if you really feel that it may be an issue for them). That's my opinion.

I agree. I say ask them and let them know you understand all that is going on in their lives and if it's too much for them to just let you know. I have three friends in my BP. Two of which I lived with at college and I love them to death. One is all the way up in Rochester so I don't get to see her all that often anymore but we are still very close and I couldn't imagine not having asked her. Good luck!

I would ask them. They seem like really important people in your life, so it makes sense to include them in your bridal party. They will probably flattered that you asked them!
