I know they are only available a few months out of the year...

Have you thought about cabbage roses? They look very similar and are cheaper too! Google them.

I would try another florist. It won't hurt!

They are out of season- I think they peak in May and are available through early June.

You CAN get them but it will cost you.

My florist told me he could get any flowers we wanted b/c most flowers are imported now...It is simply a matter of cost.

My florist told me the same thing... that everything is basically imported so he could get me whatever flowers. Maybe you want to check a wholesale vendor in the flower district and see what they say...

They're only available a few weeks out of the year but you can probably have them shipped in for a price.

Ok if you want to try another florist because you want them very bad then do i t because my florist told me that you can have any flower you want any time of the year but it would be just more expensive because he would have to green house them or get them from holland if they aren't in season... I love cherry blossoms and one florist I went to told me she couldn't guarantee me that I would have them because it depends on the weather and when they bloom, however the florist I booked with told me yes right away and told me no problem ... also set up a centerpiece for me to look at when cherry blossoms aren't even bloomed yet!

How about trying ranunculus flowers? They are a smaller flower than peonies but have a tight bud like them and are available year round.
However, it couldn't hurt to ask around about availability of the peonies. I've posted a link that shows that you can get them in September. HTH

The same thing happened to me. All I wanted was peonies but with my July date I couldn't have them. As for getting them imported, my florist told me there are a few months in the winter where you can get them from one country, and then a few months in the spring you can get them from another but most of the year they are not in season anywhere. I ended up going a completely different way but best of luck. Maybe your florist can work some magic :)

unfortunately they are out of season my mid july....unless you want to spend a fortune to have them flown in......cabbage roses, and many other types of roses have a very similar look, ask about those!
