Bo-k preservation

Bo-k preservation

I researched a few different places and decided that I really didn't want to invest such a large sum of money to have my bo-kk preserved, so I tried spraying it with hairspray, as someone else had suggested.

unfortunately, the minute the flowers were sprayed, my mom said they had a horrible smell and they wilted even quicker When I got home and opened the closet where she left them (5 days earlier), the smell was aweful and I had to take them outside. Only the center couple of flowers were still in good shape - the rest were dark and wilted.

I'm not sure if it was the hairspray or the flowers, but to be fair, I had sunflowers, gerbera daisies, ivory roses and something else ( don't remember the name) and only a sunflower and diasy in the middle was ok.

So, I just wanted to forward my review of trying to cheaply preserve my bo-k - it was a bust.

I’m sorry that didn’t work. But I really appreciate you letting us all know.

Do you have some pics of your bo-k from all angles?

I'm going to try to duplicate mine with silk flowers (one of these days )

Yes, fortunately I do, but it's ok. I have a couple good flowers, DH's bout and my mom's corsage, so it should be ok

McD - you're right it is beautiful, but I just couldn't justify the expense.

Sorry to hear about your bo-k. I sprayed mine after about a month. I had the bo-k laid out on a towel until then. Now they are dried and shallacked and it a crystal case in my crystal cabinet. I have lost a few petals, but it survived a few moves so far.
