Dry a BoK? I didn't want to do a 'preserve' really, I wanted more like dried flowers - to preserve them dried. Is this something I can do myself? Does anyone know how?? Or if there is a place that does it?

I hung my BOK upside down and then put them in a crystal vase. I'm going to get one of those glass covers (like in beauty and the beast) to put over it so they don't get dusty. Right now I have plastic wrap over them.

Thanks.. Did you cover it or anything while it was hanging? like in a brown bag or something, or just leave it -

You probably want to air dry it. Otherwise the moisture of the flowers will create mold.

I had flowers from my sister's BoK dried, pressed and framed for her after her wedding by a place called Everlastings Flowers. It's in Massachusetts, but you can ship them your BoK after your wedding and pick everything out online. They have a really nice selection of frames,matting, etc., and I found that they were a lot cheaper than the typical BoK preservation people (plus, where the heck are you going to put a huge shadow box with your Bok in it?)
FYI: Some flowers cannot be dried because of delicate petals, etc...MY sister had some orchids and ranuculous in her BoK that they couldn't press. The woman that owns the place is really helpful and can give you tips on which flowers preserve the best.
my DH unraveled a wire hangar and wrapped one end of it around the base of the bo-k, then hung it from a clothes rack. when we came back from our HM, they were totally dried, but i left the bo-k that way for another week or so. I was told3 weeks was enough time for it to fully dry out. I have it in a crystal vase in the living room.

After drying my Bo-k upside down in laundry room for awhile, I sprayed it with hairspray before putting in my vase. Was given this tip by a florist who suggested this for a Bok of roses. My Bok had a mix but it keeps it from shedding. Also tried this trick on a bunch of red roses, it prevented the roses from turning too dark and they kept a sheen. HTH.

I hung my bo-k upside and sprayed it with hairspray which protects the flowers from breaking. My bo-k is in my bedroom now and still looks beautiful, I love it!
